I had the honor of moderating in Dr. ABR Desai Hall at 32nd Annual National Conference of the Indian Society of Otology (ISOCON 2024) in Agra held from November 8-10 , where I led a session showcasing ten standout innovations in otology management by various presenters. In this video session diverse, evidence-based advancements such as streamlined case management strategies to cutting-edge clinical care delivery in otology designed to improve precision, patient outcomes, and recovery times were shared. The session highlighted the importance of integrating new techniques and collaborative approaches across disciplines in otology. Such platforms are imperative in facilitating knowledge sharing and stimulating further research to contribute meaningfully to the field of otology and patient-centered ENT care.

Excited to share a recent case! In this case, a 40-year-old male patient presented with a ranula, a mucous extravasation phenomenon commonly seen in clinical practice. Ranulas, though typically benign, can pose challenges and may require surgical management in symptomatic cases.Through careful diagnosis and surgical intervention, we successfully excised the ranula, leading to a smooth postoperative recovery and discharge.

Parents, caregivers, and friends, please be aware of potential dangers if a child is experiencing difficulty swallowing. Recently, a 6-year-old visited us, expressing difficulty swallowing due to a lodged coin. In some cases, swallowed objects can get stuck in the esophagus (food pipe), requiring immediate medical attention.
If your child shows any of these signs, seek medical help promptly.

Trouble swallowing food
Drooling
Chest or neck pain

Please be more vigilant in case of button battery and magnets.
If you suspect a child has swallowed a button battery or magnets, rush to the nearest hospital emergency department immediately. Avoid inducing vomiting, as a button battery can cause severe injury or even death within two hours if lodged in the esophagus.

Let's work together to prioritize child safety. Share this information widely to create awareness and help prevent potential emergencies. 🙏 # Coin

It's not uncommon for kids to have foreign bodies in their ears, and it's crucial to handle such situations with care. Attempting to remove the object without professional assistance can often lead to more damage. If you or your kids encounter foreign objects in the ear or nose, it's advisable to visit a nearby healthcare provider promptly.

We'd like to share two cases to highlight the importance of seeking professional help. The second case involves a patient with a pearl stuck in the ear.
