A 60 year old lady who was operated for bilateral total knee replacement before 2 years presented to us with recurrence of deformity,severe pain in both knees and inability to walk. Her xrays confirmed failure of both knees.

She was operated for Revision Knee Replacement of both knee joints following which her legs have become straight. She is able to walk, bend her knees and do all her routine activities comfortably without any pain in her knee joints.

In cases of failed knee replacements, a revision surgery can give a very good result as shown in this video.

Publication of research article by Dr Mavalankar in Indian Journal of Orthopaedics regarding satisfaction after total knee replacement operation.

Most of the patients expressed highest satisfaction with the result of their knee replacement. They didn’t consider cross legged sitting and squatting necessary as they were very happy with the pain relief and improved level of activity after knee replacement.

Knee joint designs which claim to provide high flexion are fraught with possibility of increased wear and early failure if not used judiciously.

65 year old lady operated for knee replacement on both sides. Within two years she had failure of both the knees with deformities. Her xrays showed failure of knee replacement.
She was operated for revision knee replacements on both sides
Specially designed knee joints were implanted on both sides following which her legs became straight and she started walking normally.
