વિશ્વ અને ભારત ભર માં હાલ માં મોઢા અને ગળા ના કેન્સર (Head & Neck Cancer) ના દર માં ઝડપ થી વધારો થઈ રહ્યો છે. તેનું મુખ્ય કારણભૂત પરિબળ છે – તમાકુ, બીડી તથા અન્ય વ્યસન. ઘણી વખત લોકો દ્વારા શરૂ કરવામાં આવતી આ 'સામાન્ય આદત' ધીમે ધીમે કેન્સર નું રૂપ ધારણ કરે છે અને પૂરતી જાગૃતિ ન અભાવે તેનું સમયસર નિદાન કરી શકાતું નથી. પરંતુ આ કેન્સર થતા પહેલાં જ તેને અટકાવવાના યોગ્ય પગલાં લેવામાં આવે તો તેનાથી થતું નુકશાન સંપૂર્ણપણે અટકાવી શકાય છે.
