The Cardiac Sciences team at AIIMS Bhopal recently performed a complex Transcatheter Double Valve Replacement (TAVR and Valve # followed by staged Tip-to-Base LAMPOON and TMVR) in an elderly patient. This technically demanding case required exceptional precision, planning, and multidisciplinary coordination.

To the best of our knowledge, this represents India’s first Tip-to-Base LAMPOON performed through a TAVR valve at the aortic position, marking a significant advancement in the transcatheter management of multivalvular heart diseases.

I feel privileged to have contributed to this outstanding procedure led by Dr Bhushan Shah, with crucial imaging support from Dr Satish Govind. Special thanks to Dr Pradeep Yadav, Dr Vinayak Bapat Dr Apurva Patel MD FACC FSCAI RPVI, Dr Chirag Bavishi MD, MPH and Dr Phillip Freeman for their valuable inputs in planning this intricate procedure.
