may be more severe if you get it as a young adult.

You may be more likely to have inflammation in the small joints of your hands and feet, and have bony erosions, than people who get Arthritis later in life. You’re also more likely to have rheumatoid nodules. These are small, hard lumps under the skin around your joints, usually on your fingers.

But there is some good news, too. Young adults with Arthritis are more likely to get aggressive treatment to get their disease under control. This can help prevent joint damage and disability. As a result, you may have better outcomes from treatment than older people. This could also be because younger folks have fewer of the health problems that come with aging.

18 March 2020, is a world Juvenile Day. There are many types of JA. is the most common form of JA.

Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), is the most common form of arthritis in children and adolescents. Juvenile, in this context, refers to an onset before age 16, while idiopathic refers to a condition with no defined cause, and arthritis is the inflammation of the synovium of a joint.

Causes

The cause of JIA is not known. It is thought to be an autoimmune illness. This means the body attacks and destroys healthy body tissue by mistake.

JIA most often develops before age 16. Symptoms may start as early as 6 months old.

There are several types of JIA:

Systemic (bodywide) JIA involves joint swelling or pain, fevers, and rash. It is the least common type.
Polyarticular JIA involves many joints. This form of JIA may turn into rheumatoid arthritis. It may involve five or more large and small joints of the legs and arms, as well as the jaw and neck.
Pauciarticular JIA involves four or less joints, most often the wrists, or knees. It also affects the eyes.
Symptoms

Symptoms of JIA may include:

Swollen, red, or warmjoint
Limping or problems using a limb
Sudden high fever
Rash (on trunk and extremities) that comes and goes with fever
Stiffness, pain, andlimited movement in a joint
Bodywide symptoms such as pale skin, swollen lymph gland, and "sick" appearance
JIA can also cause eye problems called uveitis, iridocyclitis, or iritis. There may be no symptoms. When eye symptoms occur they can include:

Red eyes
Eye pain, which may get worse when looking at light (photophobia)
Vision changes

Not only do women get more than men but women also often experience worse pain –ache in different joints – and are far more vulnerable to rheumatoid arthritis, one of the most debilitating forms of the condition.

The term “arthritis” is a category of conditions that bring inflammation and pain in the joints – and age is a huge risk factor. There are more than 100 different kinds of arthritis, each with its own risk factors and symptoms. The medical specialty that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of arthritis is rheumatology.

What is or
Lupus is a systemic autoimmune disease that occurs when your body's immune system attacks your own tissues and organs. Inflammation caused by lupus can affect many different body systems — including your joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart and lungs.

Lupus can be difficult to diagnose because its signs and symptoms often mimic those of other ailments. The most distinctive sign of lupus — a facial rash that resembles the wings of a butterfly unfolding across both cheeks — occurs in many but not all cases of lupus.

Some people are born with a tendency toward developing lupus, which may be triggered by infections, certain drugs or even sunlight. While there's no cure for lupus, treatments can help control symptoms.

No two cases of lupus are exactly alike. Signs and symptoms may come on suddenly or develop slowly, may be mild or severe, and may be temporary or permanent. Most people with lupus have mild disease characterized by episodes — called flares — when signs and symptoms get worse for a while, then improve or even disappear completely for a time.

The signs and symptoms of lupus that you experience will depend on which body systems are affected by the disease. The most common signs and symptoms include:

Fatigue
Fever
Joint pain, stiffness and swelling
Butterfly-shaped rash on the face that covers the cheeks and bridge of the nose or rashes elsewhere on the body
Skin lesions that appear or worsen with sun exposure (photosensitivity)
Fingers and toes that turn white or blue when exposed to cold or during stressful periods (Raynaud's phenomenon)
Shortness of breath
Chest pain
Dry eyes
Headaches, confusion and memory loss
When to see a doctor
See your doctor if you develop an unexplained rash, ongoing fever, persistent aching or fatigue
