• लक्षण

> आमतौर पर स्व-निदान योग्य

WHAT IS EPILEPSY

Epilepsy is a disorder of the brain characterized by repeated seizures. A seizure is usually defined as a sudden alteration of behavior due to a temporary change in the electrical functioning of the brain. Normally, the brain continuously generates tiny electrical impulses in an orderly pattern.

• SYMPTOMS

> Usually self-diagnosable
During a seizure, a person experiences abnormal behaviour, symptoms and sensations, sometimes including loss of consciousness. There are few symptoms between seizures.

> People may experience:
Whole body: fainting or fatigue
Muscular: rhythmic muscle contractions or muscle spasms
Sensory: aura or pins and needles
Also common: seizures, amnesia, anxiety, depression, or staring spells.

• TREATMENT

> Treatment consists of anti-convulsants
Epilepsy is usually treated by medication and in some cases by surgery, devices or dietary changes.

> Nerve pain medication

Blocks pain caused by damaged nerves.

Sedative

Causes drowsiness, calmness and dulled senses. Some types may become addictive.

> Anticonvulsant

Prevents or controls seizures, relieves pain and treats

symptoms of certain psychiatric disorders.

National Cancer Awareness Day is observed on November 7 globally. According to WHO statistics, low- and middle-income nations account for about 70% of cancer-related fatalities. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), cancer is the second most deadly disease that causes death among people. The aim to celebrate this day is to raise awareness about the deadly disease.

राष्ट्रीय कैंसर जागरूकता दिवस 7 नवंबर को मनाया जाता है। डब्ल्यूएचओ के आंकड़ों के अनुसार, निम्न और मध्यम आय वाले देशों में कैंसर से होने वाली मौतों का लगभग 70% हिस्सा है। विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (डब्ल्यूएचओ) के अनुसार, कैंसर दूसरी सबसे घातक बीमारी है जो लोगों में मौत का कारण बनती है। इस दिवस को मनाने का उद्देश्य घातक बीमारी के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाना है।

World Vegan Day is an annual event celebrated by vegans around the world every 1 November. The benefits of veganism for humans and the natural environment are celebrated through activities such as setting up stalls, hosting potlucks, and planting memorial trees.
