Axillary breast, also known as accessory breast or polymastia, is a condition where a person has an additional breast tissue in the armpit area. This condition is relatively common and can occur in both males and females. The axillary breast tissue may appear as a small lump or a full-sized breast and can develop during puberty, pregnancy, or lactation. Axillary breast tissue is usually harmless but can sometimes cause discomfort or pain, especially during menstruation. In some cases, axillary breast tissue may also be associated with an increased risk of breast cancer. Treatment options for axillary breast include surgical removal or liposuction.
