A Healthy Liver is the Healthy you

Your is the key to and that's why nature created it. It is our body's front-line immune tissue. Capable of detecting pathogens entering the body through the gut. Your liver is designed to detect, capture, and clear bacteria, viruses and macromolecules.

This amazing organ is home to the largest collection of phagocytic cells in the body, this organ is an important barrier between us and the outside world.

Interestingly this also is the human body's largest solid organ, has the capability to re-generate itself - no wonder you can donate a part of your healthy liver to a family member and soon it will be back to normal.

This sturdy organ also manages hormone metabolism, stores
vitamins and minerals, it is a protein creator and a clotting agent too.

And to top it all, your Liver is really worried when you don't watch your weight.

Let’s treat the patients and not the reports

Value for a patient is the effective time he/she spends with the clinician. Whats paramount is hearing, understanding and then acting on the concerns of the patient. Medical science is a lot about history, history & history. So when you meet me what I would like to see is not just your report but a lot more that has happened to you medically. Obesity is increasingly getting prevalent in India. Approximately 20 Percent of the adult population suffers from fatty liver. The prevalence of fatty liver and obesity is increasing even in pediatric population. Now the metabolic syndrome which encompasses obesity, dyslipidemia , diabetes or insulin resistance and hypertension has got many other links like increased risk of heart disease - coronary artery disease, cerebrovascular accidents - strokes, fatty liver - leading to NASH further worsening to cirrhosis and even increased chances of Osteoarthritis of knee due to more weight bearing by the joints.

Long term liver damage or chronic hepatitis due to various reasons leads to cirrhosis - end stage liver disease or liver failure... traditionally believed to be irreversible. However, now we know that it is reversible. Talk to me to know more or seek guidance on your liver or GI treatments.
