(681)

Jivdaya Charitable Trust (JCT) was established in 2007 and is registered under Bombay Charity Act with registration No. JCT provides medical care to un-owned free-roaming animals, and runs a rehabilitation centre for wild birds and bats. Project 1: Animal Care on Wheels
Ailing animals respond to treatment faster when treatment is given to them without changing their natural habitat. Our three Mobi

le Clinic Vans give on the spot treatments to ailing un-owned animals in their home ground in Ahmedabad city, India. These vans are also equipped to perform minor surgeries as well as vaccination against rabies. This project has helped and saved over 74,700 animals till date. We believe Improving the welfare of animals in communities benefits both people and animals. Project 2: Avian Rehabilitation
Every year thousands of birds are injured, displaced, orphaned, and suffer illness due to anthropogenic threats. We rescue, treat, and rehabilitate birds of over 100 species including critically endangered vultures. Project 3: Rehabilitation of Mega and Micro Bats
Every year in Ahmedabad, over 250 bats of various species suffer injuries, displacement, and become orphan due to several anthropogenic threats like habitat degradation, community intolerance due to false beliefs, harmful festivals, etc. We are working on bat conservation through round the year rehabilitation, and through community engagement.

An adult Black Kite (Milvus migrans) was presented with a drooping left wing and inability to fly. Radiographs confirmed an oblique proximal humerus fracture.

The fracture was reduced under fluoroscopic guidance and stabilized with a figure-of-eight wing bandage, supported by analgesics and antibiotics. With careful rehabilitation and monitoring, the fracture healed within 4–6 weeks, restoring normal wing function.

A rescued Barn Owl was presented with a fractured beak β€” an injury that severely affects feeding and survival in the wild.

The fractured beak segment was carefully repositioned and reattached using surgical glue, restoring its structure and function.

Timely intervention and precise handling made this delicate repair possible.
