Esotropia is a type of strabismus where one or both eyes turn inward (toward the nose), instead of aligning properly. This may be present from infancy (“infantile esotropia”), may be acquired later, or due to refractive error (hyperopia).
Initial treatments often include correcting refractive errors (e.g. prescribing full cycloplegic hyperopic correction in hyperopic children), glasses/prisms, and possibly vision therapy — especially for accommodative esotropia.
Non-accommodative, large-angle, or infantile esotropia — non-surgical methods may not be sufficient, and muscle surgery becomes the standard of care.
This is a case of child having large angle esotropia , who was treated with squint surgery.
Post surgery, alignment of his eyes is prefect.
