We recently organized a comprehensive Stroke Awareness Session in Mehsana, bringing together around 800 ASHA workers from Bechraji, Kadi, Mehsana, Visnagar, and Jotana.

During the session, our Interventional Neurosurgeons, Critical Care Specialists, and Emergency Medicine Specialists shared some insights on stroke recognition using the BEFAST method, the immediate steps to be taken during a stroke, the urgency of timely diagnosis and treatment, understanding the Golden Window Period, and the importance of reaching a stroke-ready hospital without delay.

The program was honoured by the gracious presence of the Collector, DDO (District Development Officer), CDHO (Chief District Health Officer), ADHO (Additional District Health Officer), DTO (District TB Officer), QAMO (Quality Assurance Medical Officer), and EMO (Epidemic Medical Officer) from Mehsana District.

The ASHA workers received the information with immense enthusiasm and warmly expressed their gratitude to the organisation and the National Health Mission, contributing to the event’s overall success.

Zydus Hospital recently organised a workshop on stroke management as part of our ongoing commitment to continuous medical education. Designed for nurses and physicians, the workshop offered a practical view of managing different types of stroke patients, from recognising early signs to timely intervention and multidisciplinary coordination. The sessions were taken by our Neurophysicians and Neurosurgeons, ER doctors and Critical Care Specialists, and Physiotherapists, each drawing from their daily clinical experience to bridge knowledge across departments, which helped the participants get a complete picture on managing different types of stroke patients. These lectures were held in an interactive learning format with quizzes in the first half, followed by structured hands-on training for all the participants.

Darshana Savaliya, in her early 40s, presented with progressively worsening pelvic pain and severe dysmenorrhea over several months. Her diagnostic imaging confirmed her to have Stage 4 endometriosis. During a period with endometriosis, the tissue that has grown outside the uterus thickens, breaks down, and bleeds like normal uterine lining but this blood and tissue cannot exit the body, and this leads to inflammation, severe pain and scar tissue formation. As a result, patients often experience intense period pain and heavy or irregular bleeding.

After seeing little to no improvement with earlier treatments, she consulted Dr. Raman Patel, Senior Gynecologist and IVF, Robotic Surgeon and Dr. Reitu Patel, Gynaecologist, IVF & Infertility Specialist, who, after diagnosing her condition, recommended a robotic hysterectomy. The robotic platform would give her a 3D-visualisation of the surgical field, enhanced dexterity and greater precision. These benefits contributed to reduced blood loss and faster healing.

Recently, we organized a health awareness session for the students of Green Valley School for Children. Dr. Rohit Rebello, our Medical Oncologist, delivered an insightful talk on understanding cancer-what it is, the current statistics, and how more than one-third of cancers are preventable. He also shed light on environmental and dietary risk factors and took the opportunity to debunk several common myths that often create fear or confusion in society.
The session was highly interactive, with students asking questions and engaging enthusiastically throughout. Their curiosity and openness made the event a meaningful success.
We believe in empowering the next generation with knowledge. By helping children understand prevention and early detection, we hope to build a future where awareness leads to healthier choices and timely action against cancer.
