Addiction Awareness Session | Karnavati University

An insightful and impactful session on Addiction Awareness was delivered by one of the leading psychiatrists of the city, a full-time psychiatrist at Healthy Mind Hospital & GIPS, supported by Ms. Khushboo Thakkar, Psychologist at the GIPS Group, at Karnavati University.

The session focused on understanding addiction beyond myths, addressing stigma, and encouraging early help-seeking and mental well-being among students.

Empowering young minds with the right knowledge is a strong step towards a healthier and more aware society. 🌱

An academic interaction session titled “Lessons Beyond Lectures” was organized on 22nd January 2026 at St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Ahmedabad for TY SF Psychology students, facilitated by Ms. Noopur Oza, Clinical Psychologist at GIPS Hospital and alumna of St. Xavier’s College.

The session was highly interactive and well received by the students, offering meaningful insights into real-world clinical practice, professional responsibilities beyond therapy, and diverse career pathways in psychology.

It is a matter of great pride to share that Dr. Ravi Soni, the first and only Geriatric Psychiatrist of Gujarat and Partner at GIPS, has been invited to speak at ANCIPS 2026, Delhi.

Dr. Soni will be a part of a distinguished symposium on “Intimacy in Later Life: Reclaiming Sexual Health, Identity, and Psychosexual Wellbeing in Older Adults.”

In today’s times, concerns related to intimacy and sexual wellbeing in older adults are increasingly prevalent, yet often remain unaddressed due to stigma, societal perceptions, and hesitation in seeking help. This session is a significant step towards normalising conversations, creating awareness, and encouraging compassionate, evidence-based care.

We congratulate Dr. Ravi Soni on this well-deserved national recognition and are proud to see GIPS contributing meaningfully to progressive mental health discourse at a prestigious platform.
