Dr Chirag N Shah has done his MBBS and MD from B J Medical college Ahmedabad. He did his DM in Gastroenterology from reputed KEM hospital, Mumbai. He cleared his DM examination in 2012 and was university first. He worked as Assistant professor for the department for 1.5 yrs. He was involved in teaching DM students and clinical research projects in Seth G S Medical College. He received prestigious
DON WILSON award scholarship from American society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy for training in advanced endoscopy and EUS in 2014.He got trained for EUS guided procedures with Dr Robert Hawes and Dr Shyam Varadarajulu in USA who are considered one of the best endosonologists in the world. He is trained in advanced endoscopy and does all type of emergency and elective endoscopic procedures i.e. Endoscopic hemoclip placement and bipolar cautry, ERCP for large stones, hilar stricture, pancreatic ERCP, EUS, EUS –FNA, EUS guided drainage procedures etc. He has performed huge volumes of endoscopy, colonoscopy and routine endoscopic procedures like stricture dilatation, PEG tube insertion, Endoscopic band ligation, endoscopic stenting procedures. He reported endoscopic description of a parasite named Gastrodiscoides Hominis for the first time in world. He has presented many research articles in Indian and International conferences. He has worked as sub investigator, co investigator and principle investigator of many clinical trials. Dr Chirag has published many research articles and has written chapter in Surgical textbook of Gastroenterology. He has developed an App FECOGRAPH for monitoring patients of IBS and is available in Google play store. The abstract was presented at DDW 2015 this year in USA. As a professional he is very down to earth and understanding physician and creates good interaction with patients. Patient education is high priority for him during consultations.
