Make your summers healthier by switching to our suggested cold beverages and natural sugars to cut the heat.

1) Cold drinks and colas contain a lot of preservatives and soda bicorbonate that cause excessive bloating and weight gain. Instead go for Infused waters that are detoxifying , fresh , antioxidant rich and completely home made. You can add Lemons , Mint , ginger , oranges, cinnamon to your infused waters.

2) Icecreams are a sugar bomb. Do you know 1 scoop of icecream is a minimum of 250kcal (that's almost 1/2 a meal for an average height). If you are really looking for a lifestyle change and enjoy desserts too much , go for flavoured yogurts - protein rich , less sugar and less fatening.

3) Cold salads and dips are the super scrumptious and healthy options for this summer's. Light on mind , soul and body. Keeps you energetic and has a low insulin response. Whereas Heavy, fried and added sugar meals like Srikhand and Puri will make you feel lethargic and sleepy. Try adding cucumber to your cold salads as it's watery and refreshing.

4) Golas/ Popsicles are again usually made out of food colours which sometimes maybe of poor quality and also the quality of water used. Lets try out some easy frozen fruit Popsicles at home.

High fiber Oats Tikki

Ingredients 

Oats 60 gm
Finely chopped vegetables ( 30 gms carrot,onion,french beans)
Boiled peas 30 gms
Oil 2 tsp
Green chilly 
Curry leaves
Mustard seeds, Cumin powder, Turmeric 
Salt

Instructions 

In a pan heat ½ tsp oil add mustard seed, allow to crackle and add curry leaves and chopped green chilly.

Add in all chopped vegetables and salt cover and cook for one minute.

Add boiled peas, turmeric, jeera powder and now add oats 

Cook for 2 mins and add ¼ cup water and again allow it cook for 1 mons

Cool it and make patties from it, cover with sesame seeds and roast it with less oil.

Serve with green chutney

3 Drinks for summer

Cucumber smoothie (170kcal)
Cucumber ½
Spinach leaves 4-5
Coriander 1 tbsp
Sattu powder 1 tsp
Jeera 1 tsp
Ginger 1 tsp
Curd 2 tbsp
Black salt 1 tsp

Apple soya shake
(160 kcal)
Apple 1
Cinnamon ½ tsp
Descended date 1
Soya milk 100 ml

Banana Coconut smoothie 
(200 kcal)
Coconut grated 1 tbsp
Soaked chia seeds 1 tbsp
Cinnamon ½ tsp
Banana 1 small, 1/2 big
Milk, can also use plant based milk 1 cup

Grind them well in a mixture grinder, add water or milk if needed, and serve with ice.

All the above 3 drinks are less than 200 kcal and are a very good breakfast option in the heat of summer when we need something chilling.
