โจ Tractional Retinal Detachment (TRD) โจ
TRD is one of the most severe vision-threatening complications of advanced diabetic retinopathy.
๐น It occurs when abnormal fibrovascular membranes pull on the retina, detaching it from its normal position which are visible arising from optic disc and involving macula in upper pre operative fundus image.
๐น Severity depends on the extent of macular involvement, duration of detachment, and coexisting vitreous hemorrhage.
๐น If untreated, it can cause irreversible vision loss.
Surgery can be challenging, but timely intervention can restore the retinal architecture and give the patient a chance at useful vision.
