What is Coronavirus?:
2019 Novel Coronavirus, or 2019-nCoV, is a new respiratory virus first identified in Wuhan, China.
Coronaviruses are viruses, some causing illness in people and others that circulate among animals, including camels, cats, and bats.

How does it spread?:
The virus probably originally emerged from an animal source but now seems to be spreading from person-to-person. Mainly via respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
It’s currently unclear if a person can get 2019-n CoV by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes.

What are the symptoms of infection?:
Mild to severe respiratory illness with fever, cough, difficulty breathing and diarrhea. Most of the serious cases (breathing failure, shock, kidney failure) occurred in patients with underlying medical comorbidities.

Is there a test to check for this virus?:
Yes, it is being done at National Virology Institute in Pune but only for selected cases based on travel and exposure history.

Is there a vaccine or treatment? :
No vaccine yet, and no specific antiviral treatment, supportive care (fever reduction and breathing support)
