🇮🇳 77th republic day.

I am truly grateful to Nava Lakshmipura Primary School, Palanpur for inviting me to host the national flag on this proud occasion.
My sincere thanks to the respected Principal, teachers, staff, and lovely students for the warm welcome and for giving me this memorable opportunity.

This will always be in my good books because my father was also a teacher in the same school and it gives me immense pleasure to be the part of this , this coming year has been really grateful.

Celebrating our nation with young minds reminds us that health, hygiene, and education together build a strong and bright India.

Cancer physiotherapy (onco-physio) is designed specifically for people undergoing or recovering from cancer treatment, whereas normal physiotherapy typically focuses on injuries, orthopedic conditions, or general musculoskeletal problems. Cancer patients face unique challenges such as treatment-related fatigue, pain, nerve damage, surgical restrictions, and weakened immunity, all of which require carefully adapted, medically coordinated rehabilitation.

Onco-physiotherapy also includes specialised care that is not part of routine physiotherapy, such as lymphedema management, post-mastectomy and post-surgical rehabilitation, breathing exercises after radiation, and safe movement protocols during chemotherapy. In contrast, normal physiotherapy usually follows standard strength, mobility, and pain-relief programs without the need to account for cancer-specific risks or long-term side effects.

Most importantly, cancer physiotherapy is holistic and stage-specific, supporting patients physically and emotionally through treatment, recovery, and survivorship. The goal is not just movement, but restoring confidence, independence, and quality of life—while preventing long-term complications—making it a vital part of comprehensive cancer care.

Lymphedema is a chronic condition caused by a blockage or damage to the lymphatic system, leading to abnormal swelling—most commonly in the arms, legs, chest, or neck. It often develops after cancer surgery or radiation when lymph nodes are removed or damaged, especially in breast, gynecological, head-neck, and pelvic cancers. If left unmanaged, lymphedema can progress, causing discomfort, heaviness, skin changes, infections, and reduced mobility.

Dr. Dipali Vaghela helps patients manage lymphedema through specialised, evidence-based care. Her approach includes manual lymphatic drainage to stimulate lymph flow, guidance on compression garments, swelling-reduction exercises, skin care education, and lifestyle modifications. This targeted therapy helps control swelling, reduce pain, and prevent complications such as recurrent infections.

With personalised lymphedema management plans, she empowers patients to regain comfort and confidence in daily life. Early intervention and consistent therapy not only improve physical function but also protect long-term limb health—making lymphedema manageable rather than limiting.

Dr. Dipali Vaghela supports cancer patients through every stage of their journey—during treatment and into survivorship—by focusing on safe movement, strength, and recovery. Cancer treatments often lead to pain, stiffness, fatigue, weakness, and reduced mobility. Through personalised onco-rehabilitation, she helps patients manage these side effects, maintain physical function, and continue daily activities with greater comfort and confidence.

She is especially valuable in lymphedema management, a common yet often overlooked complication after cancer surgery or radiation. Using specialised techniques such as manual lymphatic drainage, compression guidance, and therapeutic exercises, she helps reduce swelling, prevent infections, and improve long-term limb health—significantly enhancing quality of life.

Beyond physical recovery, her care empowers patients emotionally and functionally. By preventing long-term complications, restoring independence, and offering compassionate, individualised support, Dr. Dipali helps patients not just recover from cancer, but return to life with strength, dignity, and confidence.

Lymphedema commonly presents as persistent swelling in the arms, legs, chest, or neck, especially after cancer surgery or radiation. Early symptoms include a feeling of heaviness, tightness, reduced flexibility, aching or discomfort, and difficulty wearing rings, clothes, or footwear. As it progresses, patients may notice visible swelling, skin thickening, hardening, or repeated skin infections.

If untreated, lymphedema can worsen over time, leading to increased pain, restricted movement, skin changes, and a higher risk of infections such as cellulitis. Many patients ignore early signs, assuming swelling is temporary, which is why early identification and professional management are critical.

Dr. Dipali Vaghela helps by offering specialised lymphedema care tailored to each patient. Her treatment includes manual lymphatic drainage, compression therapy guidance, swelling-control exercises, skin care education, and long-term self-management strategies. With timely and personalised therapy, she helps patients control symptoms, prevent complications, and live comfortably with confidence.
