*World Kidney Day 2025 Celebrations at IKDRC-ITS*

IKDRC-ITS marked World Kidney Day 2025 with enthusiasm, promoting kidney health awareness and supporting children with kidney problems.

*Key Highlights*

- Engaging talk by a dietician
- Awareness skit on living related organ donation
- Inspiring dance performances by kids with kidney problems

*Launch of School Screening Program*

IKDRC-ITS launched a School Screening Program to detect kidney problems early in school-going children, promoting timely intervention and treatment.

*A Call to Action: Male Organ Donation*

The celebrations highlighted the gender disparity among organ donors and emphasized the need for increased male organ donation, encouraging fathers, brothers, and sons to pledge their organs and give hope to those waiting for a transplant.

The cheerful children, a point to ponder and positively act upon, for the parents made the program worthwhile!

The department of pediatric nephrology along with division of genomics and transfusion medicine successfully conducted workshops "Primer on genetic testing for the transplant physician" and "Extracorporeal therapies in kidney transplant recipients" and a full day CME at ISOT 2024 at Ahmedabad on 18-19 October...
For the first time in the history of ISOT full two days were dedicated to pediatric kidney transplant..

Then Dr Haffner visited IKDRC and discussed various issues related to kidney diseases in children

Started a monthly nephrogenic clinic on Tuesday 3 - 4 pm at RN 62 ground floor new IKDRC building for diagnosis, management and genetic counseling by department of pediatric nephrology and division of genomics IKDRC Ahmedabad. The division of genomics now has inhouse genetic testing facility including massively parallel sequencing for diagnosis of monogenic kidney diseases..
