I’m excited to share about our new lead in remote access thyroid and parathyroid surgery at Zydus Cancer Center. Recently in a 23/Female with left STN (Bethesda’s 2) we performed Robotic TransOral Thyroid Surgery. Patient recovering well. We have so far done over 40 laparoscopic TransOral Thyroid and Parathyroid and this is our first Robotic assisted TransOral Thyroid Surgery and also first in western India.

The journey began 1.5 years ago during the pandemic…

A young girl of barely 22 needed thyroid surgery. The father was worried for the fact as all the doctors that he consulted advised thyroid surgery but with a return gift in neck - a scar that would stay with her for life.

The worried father waited nearly 6 months for a solution for her loving daughter concerned for her future.

With same despair they entered my cabin and showed me all the reports. Like all other my fellow experts I also advised them surgery which their ears were prepared and they were quite mechanically listening when they couldn’t believe their ears and fortune that the surgery can be done scarless. It was like a dream come true for them. Nobody had ever given this hope.

The father was like doctor are you sure ???? Did we hear it right?? “Yes ……yes … I said … I can do this surgery scarless for her” and they were so astonished and surprised to hear that.

And this is how started a journey of scarless thyroid and parathyroid surgery.

Proudly bearing the largest series of western India benefitting more than 25 young necks over last 1.5 years.
