This Tripindi Shradh is performed across the country only at the very ancient Pishachmochan Kund of Kashi, which liberates the ancestors from diseases after death due to phantom obstruction and premature death. In this Shradh ceremony, three earthen pots are established on this Vimal shrine by Vedokta ritualistic method. Which are represented by black, red and white flags. There are three types of phantom obstacles. Sattvic, Rajas, and Tamas. Black, red and white flags are raised to liberate the ancestors from these three obstacles. Which is considered as the symbol of Lord Shankar, Brahma, and Vishnu, the work of Tarpan and Shradh is done. It is believed that the ancestors who die of premature death by performing Shradh on vampire redemption get salvation along with freedom from phantom obstacles. The description of the Vampire Mochan pilgrimage site is also mentioned in the Garun Purana.
Although Manikarnika Ghat is said to be the place of liberation in Bholeshankar's city of Kashi, people gather here in the month of Pitru Paksha to perform Shradh and Tarpan at the vampire Mochan Kund, wishing for the salvation of their ancestors. It is believed that the ancestors who died in famine go into the phantom va**na and their soul wanders. For their peace and salvation, the work of tarpan is done here. People from far and wide come here to do Pind Daan and Tarpan. People go to Gaya only after donating Pind here. It is a belief associated with the religious place, Vishish Mochan, that only after performing the rituals of tarpan, the Pind Daan is done in Gaya, so that the gates of heaven can be opened for the ancestors.
This year's holy Pitrupaksha (Mahalaya) Bhadrapada Purnima will start from Saturday (10-09-2022), Ashwin Krishna Amavashya will last till Sunday (25-09-2022)
