एक चीख रात को चीर के माँ के हिरदय तक आई
और एक नन्ही सी आवाज़ सुन के माँ तो बहुत रोई
माँ मुझे मत मरो, मत मरो नन्ही सी जान को
जनम से पहेले ही मत मरो इस अनजान को

बस माँ ही सुन सकती थी उसकी करुण पुकार
करना तो बहुत कुछ चाहती थी पर वो थी लाचार
आखिर वो किया कर सकती थी वो डरी सहमी थी औरत
न तो उसमे इतनी हिम्मत थी की वोह करती बग़ावत

तो उसने भर कर आंखों में आंसू का मोती कहा
तेरी अच्छी किस्मत है जो तू जनम नहीं लेती
जनम लेकर भी आखिर तू किया करेगी
इस दुनिया में औरत का कोई सामान नहीं

किया करेगी यहाँ आकर, जहाँ तेरे लिए कोई प्यार नहीं
तू ही है जो सारा जीवन दोहेरी भूमिका निबह्न्येगी
सबकी सेवा करेघी तू, पर सामान नहीं पायेगी
अरे मेरी नन्ही जान, जनम न लेने में ही है तेरी भलाई

और यह कह कर माँ की वेदना और गहराई
पर बेबुस आवाज़ आई, मुझे बस एक मौका दे दो
मुझे एक बार दुनिया में तो आने दो
में अपना ही इन्देर्दानुस बनाउंगी

चलो, चलो माँ एक नरक से कहीं दूर चलते है
तुम्हे यह समझना होगा की नारी से ही वंश चलते है
हाँ तुम ठीक कहेती हो, और माँ एक हॉस्पिटल में पहुंची
जहाँ नीतू का जनम हुआ और जीत हुई नारी की

समय बदला, समाज बदला बदला गयी दुनिया सारी
समझ गया अब संसार सारा अभी नारी नहीं अबला बेचारी.
