Deeply honoured and grateful to COGS for entrusting me with the role of Coordinator for the Laparoscopy & Robotic Surgery Workshop at the 48th AKCOG 2026.

The workshop witnessed excellent participation and engagement, with two key deliberations led by me:

🔹 “Stump the Masters” – Panel Discussion, conducted along with Dr. Rohit Ranade, with eminent experts in the field of robotic surgery.

MODUS 7.0 | February 1–2, 2026

Successfully conducted MODAS 7.0, a focused two-day robotic surgery program combining advanced technology training with high-complexity case observation.

The program featured one day of hands-on technology training followed by live case observation of two advanced robotic procedures:
• Robotic pectopexy – a challenging repeat pelvic reconstructive surgery
• Left adnexectomy in a patient with operated Hirschsprung’s disease, with prior colostomy and closure — a technically demanding case with complex pelvic anatomy

It was a pleasure to have enthusiastic and committed participants:
Dr. Sanam Bashir (Medical Trust Hospital, Kochi),
Dr. Serene Mary Saji, and
Dr. Pritty B Rmesh,
who actively engaged in both the technology and clinical aspects of the program.

The training was conducted in collaboration with Intuitive Surgicals, reinforcing the importance of structured robotic education and safe adoption of advanced minimally invasive techniques.

A heartfelt thanks to Mr. Sufil(Intuitive Surgicals) for his constant support, technical expertise, and seamless coordination throughout the program.

Happy to share that the Department of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Gynaecology at Aster Medcity has successfully completed 100 gynecological robotic surgeries within six months of its inception.

The surgical spectrum encompassed advanced benign gynecological procedures, including complex endometriosis, reconstructive gynecologic surgeries ,urogynaecology procedures and other technically challenging cases, reflecting both the depth and breadth of robotic applications in modern gynecologic practice.

This milestone represents the collective effort of a highly committed multidisciplinary team, including surgical colleagues, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and operating theatre personnel, whose professionalism and precision ensured consistent surgical excellence and patient safety.

I sincerely acknowledge Aster Medcity’s leadership and institutional support in establishing and nurturing a robust robotic gynecology program aimed at delivering evidence-based, patient-centric, minimally invasive care.
