"SEPTEMBER" - PCOS AWARENESS MONTH

PCOS - polycystic ovarian syndrome ( previously k/a pcod)

It is a condition with hormonal imbalance in females causing infertility.

Incidence of PCOS used to be 1 in 30 a decade ago. Now it increased to 1 in 10. Means in every 10 females, 1 is suffering from the syndrome.

Most common symptoms are excessive facial hair growth, thinning of scalp hair, infertility, diabetes.

Be it the unhealthy food habits or increased stress or lack of proper exercise, PCOS is alarmingly high in incidence.

To all the women out there.. Do consult your doctor if you have the symptoms of PCOS.

PCOS is treatable. So know about it at the earliest and stay healthy. 🙂
