MAHARANA PARTAP GOVT. POST GRADUATE COLLEGE AMB came into being on 18th, June 1997 when the Himachal Pradesh Government took over the erstwhile National College, Amb, established in 1970. The College is situated in the center of the Amb town on the National Highway ,32Kms away from Una, the Distric head-quarters, on the way to the famous shrine of “the goddess-Chintpurni”. Maharana Pratap Govt. College, Amb offers under-graduate courses in Humanities and Science (Non-Medical) since its inception and Pst-graduate courses, in English and Economics has been introduced w.e.f. the academic session 2002-03. The college is having a newly constructed Administrative Block , Library and Science Block. The laboratories for Botany and Zoology have been constructed and the college administration has made a formal request with H.P. Govt. to grant sanction to start B.Sc (Medical) classes.The constructed work on nine lecture theatres and twelve class-rooms is already in progress and almost nearing completion by the end of this session i.e. 2006-2007.
