🩺 Right Pancreatic Lobe — Tracing Steps
1️⃣ Identify the Descending Duodenum (your key landmark)
Right cranial abdomen
Thick wall, gas-filled, C-shaped loop
2️⃣ Place the probe longitudinally along the duodenum
Duodenum should run head-to-tail on screen
Keep it centered
3️⃣ Scan the MEDIAL (inner) border of the duodenum
The right pancreatic lobe lies medial & slightly dorsal to it
Appears as elongated or triangular soft tissue
4️⃣ Follow it cranially & caudally
Trace along the whole duodenal length
Look for continuity toward the pancreatic body near the pylorus
5️⃣ Adjust for clarity
Use microconvex/curvilinear probe
Reduce gain slightly
Gentle pressure to move gas
✅ Normal appearance
Thin
Fine echotexture
Slightly hyperechoic to liver
🚨 Abnormal (pancreatitis)
Hypoechoic & swollen
Bright surrounding fat
Local fluid
Duodenal thickening
💎 Fast recall
“FIND DUODENUM → FOLLOW MEDIAL BORDER → TRACE SOFT TISSUE BAND”

🏁 Strong Hearts Never Stop Running
Our brave 8-month-old racing champion fractured her radius bone during training — a common risk in high-performance athletes.
Today, we successfully performed radius plating surgery under General Anaesthesia with C-arm guidance to ensure perfect alignment and strong healing, so she can safely return to peak performance in the future.
With rest, rehab, nutrition, and lots of love, we hope she’ll be back on track — stronger than ever 🐾✨
May God bless her with a speedy recovery and many future trophies ahead ❤️

Pancreas Tracing — Ultra-Short Guide
1️⃣ Start on the RIGHT (best window)
Find descending duodenum
Trace medial & dorsal border
👉 Right pancreatic limb lies along it
2️⃣ Find the BODY
At pylorus / portal vein region
Junction of both limbs
3️⃣ Trace the LEFT limb
Look between stomach & spleen
Just cranial to transverse colon

🐶💔 Constant Scratching Can Turn Into Ear Destruction
This sweet dog kept scratching his ears for weeks…
The owner didn’t realise that the skin had already developed severe infection & gangrene-like necrosis.
By the time we saw him, the ear tissue was so badly damaged that cosmetic ear-removal surgery was the only way to save his life & stop the pain.
🚨 Important Reminder for Pet Parents
Continuous ear scratching is NEVER normal
Causes may include ear mites, infection, allergies, wounds or haematoma
Delaying treatment can lead to permanent ear damage & necrosis
❤️ If your dog is:
✔ constantly scratching
✔ shaking head
✔ foul smell from ears
✔ black discharge / pus
✔ wounds or bleeding
👉 Please see a vet IMMEDIATELY
Early treatment can: ✔ stop the pain
✔ save the ear
✔ prevent surgery
✔ protect your pet’s life
🐾 **Dogs cannot speak — pain shows as behaviour.

A C-section mother deserves extra love, patience, warmth and respect.
Her body healed — now let her heart heal too.

26/12/2025

Whether human or animal — every mother who delivers through surgery deserves comfort, kindness, and respect. Healing needs love. ❤️

25/12/2025

👉 Yes — this situation is a red-flag dystocia and C-section is indicated.
Especially in brachycephalic breeds, waiting is risky.
🛑 Why this is an EMERGENCY
Progesterone fall = stage II labour expected
Maternal pushing without cervical dilation = obstructive labour
This can cause:
fetal distress / death
uterine exhaustion or rupture
shock
aspiration risk

🚨 ABOUT “BLOCKED CAT SYNDROME” (URETHRAL OBSTRUCTION)
What happens?
Inflammation, crystals, mucus, or spasm block the urethra → urine cannot pass.
Life-threatening consequences
Hyperkalemia (↑ potassium) → fatal arrhythmias
Azotemia (↑ urea/creatinine) → uremic toxicity
Hydronephrosis → kidney damage
Bladder rupture
Death within 24–72 hours if untreated
📌 Male cats (neutered or intact) are at highest risk because their urethra is long & narrow.
❌ MYTH vs FACT ABOUT NEUTERING & BLOCKAGE
❌ Myth
“Neutering prevents urinary blockage.”
✅ Fact
Studies show:
Neutered male cats are more frequently obstructed — but due to lifestyle correlation, not surgery itself
Neutering does NOT narrow the urethra
Major risk factors supported by research:
✔ Male s*x
✔ Obesity
✔ Indoor lifestyle
✔ Stress
✔ Decreased water intake
✔ Dry-food only diet
✔ Litterbox/household stress
🧠 WHY PEOPLE THINK NEUTERING HELPS
Neutering reduces stress-driven behaviour.
Stress reduction helps FIC (feline idiopathic cystitis) — a major cause of urinary signs.
So INDIRECT benefit exists, but:
Neutering does not “prevent blockage.” Management of stress, hydration & weight are key.
🐱 FEMALE SPAYING (OVARIOHYSTERECTOMY)
Female cats rarely experience urethral obstruction.
Spaying benefits are different:
Proven benefits
✔ Prevents pyometra (often fatal uterine infection)
✔ Eliminates ovarian & uterine tumours
✔ Reduces mammary cancer risk — dramatically
Spayed before 6–12 months → >90% risk reduction
✔ Prevents heat cycles, roaming & pregnancy
📌 This is life-saving — especially pyometra prevention.
🔴 SCIENCE BEHIND THE DEADLY EFFECTS OF BLOCKAGE
Hyperkalemia
Blocked urine → potassium retained
K⁺ rises above 6.0–7.0 mEq/L
Causes:
bradycardia
AV block
ventricular fibrillation
cardiac arrest
Hydronephrosis
Pressure backs up → renal pelvis dilation → tubular damage → CKD risk
Azotemia
Urea & creatinine rise → nausea, CNS depression → coma
📌 This is a true emergency.

24/12/2025

Spaying at the time of mammary tumour surgery is scientifically proven to reduce hormonal tumour stimulation, decrease recurrence risk, prevent new tumour formation, improve survival in many cases, and protect the dog from future reproductive emergencies like pyometra.

23/12/2025

Jejunal lymph nodes (or cranial mesenteric nodes) in dogs are key abdominal lymph nodes draining the small intestine (jejunum/ileum) and pancreas, found along mesenteric vessels, typically appearing as elongated structures, crucial for immune response but also indicators of intestinal issues like lymphoma or inflammation when enlarged or abnormal on ultrasound. Veterinarians use ultrasound to assess their size, shape, and blood flow (echogenicity), as enlarged, thickened, or hypoechoic (darker) nodes often signal inflammation (lymphangiectasia) or cancer (lymphoma), requiring further investigation.
