Ultrasound Findings – Mesenteric Lymphadenitis or Mass:

Swollen mesenteric lymph nodes: Hypoechoic, enlarged, rounded or oval → indicates inflammation, infection, or neoplasia.

Thickened intestines: Wall >3–5 mm with loss of layering → suggests enteritis or infiltrative disease.

Mesenteric mass effect: Hypoechoic or mixed echogenicity mass displacing loops → may represent abscess, lymphoma, or granuloma.

Increased mesenteric echogenicity: Fat stranding → reactive inflammation.

Reactive ileus: Dilated bowel loops, poor motility.
