“Dr. Vishal Choksi’s dedication to my father’s well-being extended far beyond the operating room”.
Manish Mistry and his family have been through a rollercoaster of battles against cancer. Not once, not twice, but three times he has emerged victorious, each time was a testament to the unwavering support and strength of his family members, loved ones and caregivers. They first came for a consultation and underwent a successful surgery with Dr Vishal Choksi in 2014, and have been coming for regular check up since then.
Manishbhai developed another cancer in a new location after 7 years. This was during the devastating Covid-19 pandemic, which claimed the lives of two of their loved ones. The entire family lost all hope. Yet, amid grief and difficulty, they decided to get operated. Manishbhai’s wife, once a pillar of strength, had crumbled under the weight of grief, consumed by tears and refusing to eat.
During this time, their children became their rock, standing by their side through every hospital visit, every setback, and every moment of despair.
In a recent follow-up visit in December 2023, Dr Choksi thought something inside the mouth looked suspicious and he asked them to get a biopsy. He asked for the samples and personally got it re-checked to make sure that there was no room for uncertainty regarding a possible recurrence of the disease. This level of attentiveness and genuine concern continued to reassure the Mistry family that they were in safe hands.
According to his daughter, “Dr. Vishal Choksi’s dedication to my father’s well-being extended far beyond the operating room.”
With heavy hearts but unbeatable spirits, they faced each battle head-on, drawing strength from each other.
Today, Manishbhai’s remission is a testament to their resilience, their daughter’s marriage a celebration of life, and their family’s journey a reminder that even in the darkest of times, hope can prevail.
