It was an honour and a privilege to be part of this wonderful initiative by Dainik Jagran. It was a unique experience to interact with public through this forum. Such initiatives can go a long way in spreading awareness regarding various visual debilitating illnesses in our endeavours to prevent avoidable blindness in the community. My sincere gratitude to Mr Nitin Dhiman and all the staff members of Dainik Jagran Amritsar for the kind invitation and for the opportunity to be part of this important health initiative!

Giant Papillae!!

Giant papillae are a characteristic feature of vernal keratoconjunctivitis (VKC), an allergic eye condition, particularly on the upper tarsal conjunctiva. These papillae are enlarged bumps (typically greater than 1mm in diameter) that give the conjunctiva a cobblestone appearance. They are a sign of active inflammation and can be associated with other symptoms like itching, redness, and mucus discharge. In severe cases, giant papillae can lead to complications like shield ulcers (corneal ulcers) and plaques (deposits of inflammatory material).
