I hope you see that none of this is Pakhand / not Pakhand.
Pakhand means that - inside, you are one way and outside, you show others and present yourself in another way.
In many areas, we need to do this, with private things. For example going to the bathroom. Some things need to be done privately and not shown to others, that is also Pakhand. It is different from the Pakhand that Guru ji talks about.
When Guru ji is talking about Pakhand, Guru ji is talking about performing religious ceremonies, while not developing or having any love for Truth within.
People who have no intention to move forward to the Truth, whether they go to Haridwar, Ayodhya, Mecca or Harimandir Sahib, they all drown.
Those who have love for the Truth, like Sant Nam Dev ji, even if they worship idols, they will find the Truth.
This is why Guru Arjun Dev ji specifically included the idol worship performed by Sant Nam Dev ji in Guru Granth Sahib (can be found on 1163) and even talks about it in his shabads (on 487).
Guru Arjun Dev ji ki bani -
The Lord drank the milk that Nam Dev ji offered to His idol, and due to his devotion, he did not have to face Janam Sankat (includes things like being controlled by negative emotions, compulsive desires, purposelessness, existential dread and meaningless suffering).
It is an example on how to worship - Performing the religious ceremony while having profound love for the Truth within.
It is very different from how we are doing things today, in our daily lives.
