This is a hemodialysis catheter.
The double and separate tube can be placed in a vein in the neck, chest or groin, using local anesthesia. It is usually a temporary option for patients who do not have a fistula and need to undergo dialysis treatment. During hemodialysis, blood leaves the body through the red tube, passes through the hemodialysis device and returns through the blue tube.
