Not All Fevers Show on the Thermometer!
Ever felt feverish, tired, or weak — but the thermometer reads normal?
As doctors, we often face skepticism when admitting such patients. Even insurance teams raise eyebrows!
But let’s clear the myth
* Autoimmune diseases, thyroid imbalances, deep-seated infections, post-viral syndromes, and even some cancers can cause fever-like symptoms without a recordable temperature spike.
*Some medicines (like steroids, NSAIDs) blunt the fever response.
* In many conditions, the body's thermostat is malfunctioning — the heat is real, even if the mercury isn’t.
* Diagnosis isn't always about the thermometer — it's about listening to the patient.
💬 Let's stop judging the patient's symptom just by a number on a device.

Some check sugars once a day.
Some twice. Some after every meal.
Some can’t even sleep without checking…
And some are scared to check at all.

But here’s the truth 👉 There are 101 reasons your sugar fluctuates.
Food, sleep, hormones, stress... even the anxiety of checking sugar can raise your sugar.

Yes, overchecking can backfire.

🧘‍♂️ Breathe.
🌿 Slow down.
🧠 Stay mindful.

You're not a number on the screen.
Balance is more than just numbers.

I say: “Check TSH in 90 days.”
Patient: checks in 30, changes dose themselves.

I say: “We’ll review cholesterol in 6 months.”
Patient: already tested twice, adjusted statin last week.

And if I smile and let it be?
I’m the “good doctor.”

Our brains are wired for connection, thriving in tight-knit communities. When elderly parents live apart from their kids, it’s not just loneliness—it can spark a cascade of physical and mental health issues. From depression to weakened immunity, isolation takes a toll. Let’s rethink how we care for our elders, keeping them close, loved, and engaged. Family isn’t just tradition; it’s medicine.

Polypharmacy or Polypathy ??

For Thyroid illness? Take homeopathy.
For Joint pains? Try Ayurveda.
For Fatty liver? Try Instagram juice.
Heart disease? Oh, that needs real medicine.

And all the mixing happens without the treating doctor’s knowledge. 🙈
We’re not just facing drug-drug interactions. We’re into pathy-pathy collisions. And the real tragedy?

Most patients don’t see a problem with mixing different systems of medicine like they’re making a fruit salad.

The Other Side of Development
India is rising, they say. But what about the real India — the people?
Many who were once pillars of local economy, running stable businesses for decades, are now shutting shop. Once financially secure, they now face daily uncertainty. Loyal employees, some after 20–30 years of service, are jobless and hopeless.
This isn't just an economic crisis — it's a health crisis.
Financial instability is pushing many to cut corners on essentials — even medicine. Quality drugs are replaced by cheaper, less effective ones. Preventive care is ignored. Mental health? Barely addressed.
We are witnessing a dangerous loop: Financial stress → Ill health → More financial burden.
This silent crisis, brewing over the last 7–8 years, needs attention. It’s time we talk about it — honestly, openly, and compassionately.

Prescription by WhatsApp, Diagnosis by Uncle, Doses by Mood!
In Kerala, every home is a mini medical college – there's always a nurse chechi, a pharmacist cousin, a doctor nephew, and of course, Google MBBS.
Self-adjusting dosages of medications, skipping doses, doubling them, or popping "something similar" is a silent epidemic. Especially in chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension – the price paid for such “DIY doctoring” can be life-altering.
Medications are not curry powders to be adjusted by taste!
If you’re unsure, consult. Not your neighbor, but your actual doctor. Let’s stay smart, not just self-made Google-smart.
