A special day it was...

Special because of the occasion...our 79th Independence Day.

Special because the Commandant of BEG & Centre graced the occasion and hoisted our National flag.

Special because the children of Manavya Foundation participated in the celebrations and performed on stage.

Ghar trod on a hitherto virgin path…a path on which the grass needed wear…by visiting Manavya Foundation and mingling with their children and having them amongst us...the very first for them.

We won our independence from colonial raj years back.

We now seek independence from stigmatising fellow humans because they are HIV+ve and seek to give them opportunities like any other.

They are our very own…and we wish the very best for them. Thank you Manavya for joining us and making the celebration even more special.

They are separated...but bonded together by blood and feelings.

Several of our girls have brothers admitted in boys orphanages. We occasionally send our girls to meet them.

On rakshabandhan, girls who have brothers and some more tied rakhis on the wrists of all boys housed in the two orphanages where their brothers are housed - a practice we have always followed.

Wonderful it was to see the smiles on their faces when they returned.

We’ve won our first two matches she said excitedly!

Amongst the first to make Ghar her home more then three years back she has blossomed into a young teen with her two likewise aged sisters...3 Idiots and Best Sisters Forever they proudly call themselves.

From far away Bangalore she had called...a player of the Kabaddi team of her school which was participating in the inter Kendriya Vidyalaya Kabaddi competition.

Her team did not make it ahead...but she gained so much with the overall experience...her game...team spirit...new friends...her first train journey...a new city to see...

Proud we are of you girl. Well done!

A wonderful trek on the Katraj-Bopdeo trail under the guidance of one of our members during the early morning hours in beautiful weather and a light drizzle.

An educational visit to the Shivsrushti Historical theme park by our older girls was an eye opener for them. They delved into our history and the bravery of Shivaji Maharaj and embarked on an immersive visual journey through majestic forts with tales of historic battles.

Fun, play, adventure and learning...from horseriding to pistol shooting to trying their hand at archery to football, basketball, volleyball to yoga, dance, craft work, a visit to the National Defence Academy (NDA), Vedic Maths and a wonderful closing ceremony with performances by the participants...the 13 days Summer Camp had just about everything that children love doing...

Our girls loved it...plenty of new friends they made...had new stories to excitedly narrate everyday...

Meticulously organised by BEG, it’s an event our girls eagerly look forward to during their summer vacations.

The moon looks so beautiful with its craters they exclaimed!

Four orbiting moons of Jupiter cradling the gas giant in a straight line were a sight to see!

They looked in awe through a high powered telescope at the celestial sky and gauged into the depths of the Solar System.

A short session of astronomy followed by gauzing at celestial bodies through a telescope...indeed a wonderful and educative experience it was for our girls.

Ghar - A charitable home of Sant Ishwar Foundation

Each one of us has a desire to do something for those who are lesser fortunate than us. Each one does so in one’s own ways. Some are fortunate to be able to give wings to their dreams. Ghar is an outcome of one such dream.

Ghar is about hope, future, security, education, care and affection; Ghar is about feelings, emotions and above all Ghar is about love. Ghar is what each one of us cherishes in our hearts.

Ghar encompasses several ‘homes’ that will house orphans/ marginalised children, paralysed women and the elderly. Each component will complement the others. Ghar is managed by Sant Ishwar Foundation, a registered public charitable trust which was formed in December 2018 to serve humanity. We have come a long way since then. The civil infrastructure to house Ghar has been constructed. Furnishing work of the homes is in progress.

In the first phase, the homes for paralysed women and the elderly will be opened. Registration of inmates for these homes has commenced. In the second phase, the orphanage/ child care home will commence operations.
