केंद्रीय आरोग्य राज्य मंत्री डॉ भारती पवार यांची भेट आणि चर्चा
*Yesterday, we had the privilege of meeting Dr. Bharati Pawar, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. During our discussion with Dr. Pawar, we addressed several pressing concerns affecting the medical community.*
*Dr. Yashwant Gade*, president, emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity of modern medicine, advocating for a patient-centric approach while safeguarding against the integration of alternative systems. He also highlighted the ongoing challenges faced by doctors, including violence in healthcare settings and the need for comprehensive legal protection.
He urged for stronger legal protections for healthcare professionals and institutions against violence, including the implementation of deterrent laws at the central level. Recommending exemptions for small and medium-sized hospitals and clinics from certain regulatory acts, he argued against criminal prosecution of doctors, emphasizing the detrimental effects on patient care and treatment costs. He also advocated for the separation of licensing exams from undergraduate medical education admissions processes.
*Dr. Anupam Takalkar,* secretary, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the need for adequate staffing in medical colleges. He underscored the importance of avoiding fee capping for doctors. He stressed the necessity of promptly filling vacant medical professor positions before establishing new medical colleges. Joined by *Dr. Ujwala Dahiphale, Dr. Arvind Gaikwad, Dr. Sanjiv Saoji, Dr. Ujjwala Zavar, and, Dr Kanchan Roplekar*, Dr. Takalkar emphasized the need for sustainable solutions to address the challenges faced by the medical fraternity. Their collective voices echoed the urgent need for holistic reforms to ensure the well-being of both healthcare providers and patients alike. Dr Dahiphale and Dr. Takalkar also emphasized the need for increased rates under the MJPJAY scheme.

Their leadership and expertise have been instrumental in navigating the complexities of healthcare advocacy and ensuring the representation of doctors' concerns effectively.
*Dr. Bharti Pawar* expressed appreciation for the insights provided by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and pledged to review the issues raised. Additionally, Dr. Bharathi Pawar, the Health Minister for the state government of India, displayed a genuine eagerness to engage with the concerns raised by the medical community. Her commitment to reviewing the health manifesto and charter of demands showcased a dedication to understanding and addressing the issues faced by healthcare professionals. Dr. Pawar's pledge to study the presented documents thoroughly and provide a thoughtful response demonstrated her proactive approach to governance and healthcare reform. As a responsive leader, she expressed optimism about collaborating with stakeholders to enact meaningful change for the betterment of healthcare delivery in India.
*Dr. Bhagwat Karad*, the Minister of State for Finance, assured his support for the medical community and pledged to address GST concerns. Dr. Bhagwat Karad, the Minister of State for Finance in the Indian government, affirmed his solidarity with the medical community, drawing from his personal affiliation as a member. His assurance to stand by the doctors and address their concerns, including resolving GST issues, highlighted a commitment to fostering a supportive environment for healthcare professionals. Dr. Karad's acknowledgment of the vital role played by doctors underscored his dedication to ensuring their well-being and the sustainability of the healthcare sector. As a key figure in government, his promise to advocate for the interests of the medical fraternity signals a promising path towards collaborative solutions and positive outcomes.
*We presented Dr. Pawar with the IMA health manifesto and the Charter of demands, to which she committed to study and respond promptly.*
