As a child, this patient suffered severe accidental burns and reached Bembde Hospital in a critical, life-threatening condition with infected wounds. Survival itself was uncertain.
But with dedicated burns care, multiple stages of treatment, and unwavering support, he fought through.

✨ More than 20 years later, he is now a young adult, a college student, a social media influencer, and fully active — performing exercises, stretching freely, and living independently.

Dear Friends, Happy Dipawali!
Unfortunately we have seen very high incidence of in last Diwali.
Tips for enjoying fire crackers safely during Diwali with prevention of burns injuries : By Dr. Ramakant Bembde
Do you know that most common cause for accidental in our region?
It's . This is very much preventable with some minor precautions.
Most important in case of burns is : "Pour water on burns immediately for minimum 20 minutes!"

Prevention of Fire Cracker Injuries:
Do's:
1. Always light fire crackers in open Spaces only.
2. For children, always lit crackers in presence of parents or elder persons.
3. Keep safe distance from our body while lighting the crackers.
4. Keep bucket filled with water ready near by.
5. Store crackers away from electrical supply or sources of fire.
6. Prevent children from picking up defective or unexplored fire crackers.
7. Use bucket of water or sand to discard used fireworks.
8. Keep pets indoors: Cats and dogs should stay inside.
9. Teach children to STOP, DROP & ROLL. Ahead of Fireworks night make sure children know what to do if their clothes catch fire. The instinct is to run. So encourage them to practice stopping, dropping to the ground, covering their face with their hands, and rolling over a few times to put out the flames.
Don't:
1. Don't bend forward while lighting Crackers.
2. Don't use loose or nylon cloths while lighting crackers.
3. Don't carry crackers in pockets of Shirt or pant.
4. Don't rub your eye if fire cracker injury to eye occurs. Wash your eye immediately with water for 10 minutes.
5. Don't cover crackers with glass bottles or Containers for extra sound effect.
6. Don't light fire crackers on your hands. It may burst in your hand & causes severe burn injury.
7. Never throw crackers at any person, electric poles, electric wires, appliances or animals.
8. Fire Crackers which failed to explode should not be picked up. Because these might explode in picker's hand.
9. Don't burst crackers without using footwear.
10. Don't burst (light) rocket in bottle because these may cause eye injury & facial injuries.
11. Don't give rockets, bombs to children for lighting.
12. Toxic substance used in crackers are harmful to our health & noise generated by crackers cause immense suffering to birds & animals.
13. Do not light crackers indoors.
14. Do not open crackers & light them. It is dangerous.
15. 14) After burning sparkles do not throw them on the floor. Put them in a bucket of water or sand to cool down.

Primary Aid after burns :
1) Pour water over burn wounds for 20 minutes.
Don't use ice. Water minimizes skin temperature & prevents burn wounds to spread deeper.
1. Put clean cloth or bedsheet over burn wounds.
2. Don't apply toothpaste, ink etc over burn wound.
3. Remove rings, bangles or such Constricting materials immediately.
4. Don't puncture blebs due to burns.
5. Clean the wound & apply antibiotic ointment.
6. For facial burns or injury to eye, splash water for minimum 30 minutes & cover with clean towel. Take the individual to specialized Burn Center�Consult doctor immediately.

Prevent serious facial & eyes injury due to of gunpowder from unexploded fire crackers !

The immediate first aid for such burns is : pouring of clean tap water continuously for 20 to 30 minutes to wash off the chemicals from eyes & face as well as to cool down the temperature of burnt skin & eyes.

Urgent consultations with plastic surgeon and ophthalmologist is must in such cases.

Do you know what’s the commonest causes of facial in children during ?
Surprisingly we found in our experience that due to igniting of gunpowder from unfired is the 2nd most cause of accidental burns in children, while still the commonest cause is misfired conical .
Today we received these three ? 😃young scientists cousins who were experimenting with the unfired fire crackers after Diwali is over!
They all got facial burns. Unfortunately one child got severe burns on face , legs & hands & needed indoor treatment. Such burns are combinations of ( ) & due it’s ingredients aluminium, sulphur, barium & potassium used in all fire crackers.
So elderly family members has to be vigilant about due to .
Unfortunately in last seven days since 27th October has treated total 57 burns patients due to out of these total 20 patients needed indoor admissions for major burns to hands & face.
