As I conclude my tenure as Chairman of the Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council, I write this note with deep gratitude and immense pride in what we have collectively built.
The journey of strengthening LSSSDC has been one of shared purpose, disciplined ex*****on, and unwavering belief in the importance of building a skilled life sciences workforce for India. None of the milestones we celebrate today would have been possible without your continuous support, commitment, and hard work. Our work does not end here; it lives on in every Indian we skill and takes us one step towards a stronger Bharat.
During my tenure, we collectively undertook several important initiatives to strengthen and expand the Councilโs impact:
Strong Financial Growth & Sustainability: Revenue exceeded planned targets, growing from โน1.8 crore to โน11 crore in FY 2024โ25 alone. We defined a structured vision, scale-up strategy, and annual objectives for LSSSDC programsโbringing clarity, discipline, and measurable outcomes to our growth journey.
Large-Scale Industry & Apprenticeship Engagement: More than 24,000 apprenticeships were facilitated in 2025 alone, significantly expanding industry participation and workforce absorption.
Skill Development Centres with Strong Outcomes: We established and strengthened Skill Development Centres achieving an 80% placement rate for trained studentsโdemonstrating real, measurable impact.
New Certifications including, Medical Devices, Regulatory & Compliance: We strengthened certification programs, particularly for professional experts, and advanced apprenticeship, medical devices initiatives, audit requirements, and real industry challenges aligned with national priorities.
Comprehensive Skill Gap Study: A detailed Skill Gap Study was undertaken to identify workforce deficiencies and guide evidence-based program development.
Strategic & Digital Transformation: We launched ERP development initiatives, implemented improved marketing strategies and structured feedback mechanisms, and developed a comprehensive communication strategy.
Such milestones were achieved through collective effort, shared purpose, and a strong commitment to advancing the life sciences skilling ecosystem in India.
Together, we have helped shape a more self-reliant India - 2047 mission and the vision of a globally competitive life sciences sector.
I am pleased to welcome Mr. Anil Matai, Director General of OPPI, as he assumes the role of Chairman of Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council. I am confident that under his capable leadership, LSSSDC will continue to scale new heights and strengthen its contribution.
I wish the Council continued success in its important journey and look forward to witnessing its ongoing growth and impact.
The institution grows, the mission continues โ and becomes stronger with every skilled individual.
