The link between smell, emotion and s*xual chemistry
The human sense of smell is inextricably linked to memory. What we smell is what we hear or see. Smell can define characters in mind and play personalities too. Everything alluring, lovely, gracious, feminine can be associated with a person who comforts you. People tend to fall in love with personalities, recognise them through odours and remember them by connecting the odour with personality. Men are more likely to be known by their strong, musky,piercing, unusual, soft and warm, tangy odours.
Moment of every exquisitely pleasant memories are recalled by a scent. It acts as a type of bonding. It can happen to experiences of a place or a person. We respond to odour and that response is linked to emotion. If the odour is s*xual, we respond s*xually. If the odour is disgusting, we respond with distaste. This is not a universally human response but a cultural one. Our culture has taught us that body odours are offensive, and cautions us to remove them all.
The combination of scent and massage is a heady experience. By stimulating the olfactory center under the erotic stimulus of touch , scents can evoke an emotional response,vin fact, free a person to some degree and allow a natural chemistry to occur. Masseurs are usually aware of this headonix effect, and to avoid it, they use unscented oil during massage.
In less deodorized cultures than ours the s*xual attraction of the armpit odor is duly recognised. In Balkan countries and Greece, men carry handkerchiefs in their armpits during folk dances and in the course of the dance they offer these handkerchiefs to women to attract them as partners. We find the male use of armpits and groin extreme gross but a female handkerchief from the same areas would seem rather exciting to most men.
The limbic system in humans is the area responsible for pleasure, the area that regulates s*x drives and the reproductive cycle. Some of the nerves from the olfactory center in the nose go to the limbic system to stimulate it's emotional and s*xual center when the proper smell is released.
