New class just launched: Embodied Boundaries!

Boundaries are a tool to keep us safe in relationships and circumstances, so that we can connect in ways that feel healthy and respectful to ourselves and others.
So what are Embodied Boundaries? Well, you might think of the term boundaries as something you would work on in a Talk-Therapy session. And yes, when it comes to relationships, boundaries are things we sometimes need to talk about and express and understand in words. But boundaries are also something that we feel in our bodies. Our bodies tell us when something feels safe and comfortable and when something feels too much, too close, unsafe or overwhelming. Sometimes, when we are trying to solve a problem by talking through it, we can go in circles, but if we can listen to our bodies and our feelings, we might already know what might help make us feel safe.

This course will guide you, individually, through a process of discovering and listening to your own embodied boundaries. Noticing preferences in various categories of boundaries. Once you have this knowledge about yourself, it is easier to navigate your workplace, your relationships, your home and your relationship with yourself and keep your nervous system feeling more safe and your integrity feeling more respected.

Who feels like their glutes and hip flexors could use some gentle release? As we settle into fall and temperatures drop, our bodies are naturally moving towards stability, curling inward, energy preservation and hibernation. Rest is so important at this time of year. If you live somewhere that has changing weather, temperatures are affecting your joints, and also the terrain might be getting slippery or slushy soon.
❄️
Yin offers a gentle release around the hips to create more flow in these joints, so we are finding balance through micro- movements and imperceptible sways and not in gripping and tightening. Keeping a little bit of warmth and movement in these joints throughout winter allows them to respond to changing terrain and conditions by finding new ways of balancing, rather than reacting and tightening.
❄️
Yin practice is every Monday and Friday night on zoom - links in bio to join and it’s pay what you can! 💛

For me, Movement is not about fitness or perfection or changing what my body looks like on the outside. Movement is about changing how it feels on the inside. Movement is about discovering my patterns of thinking and feeling and exploring what’s outside of those patterns… Discovering what else is possible for me to feel and perceive on a daily basis. Movement is about finding freedom and pleasure in the sensation of just being alive.
🤸‍♀️
🤸‍♀️
In my Movement classes, we turn our cameras off and we have full permission to go away from our computers. My students don’t imitate my movement or try to replicate what I’m doing. Most of the class you can’t even see me. Instead, I guide you through your own practice following my cues that encourage you to explore and discover what your body seeks right now: what feels good, what wants to open and free, what wants to close or squeeze, what objects and surfaces in your surroundings give you support and inspire your movement... movement is an exploration. It’s about returning to the child in us all who doesn’t define the world around them but experiences it as if it’s brand new. 💡
I’m offering two movement classes every Sunday. One from 11:30 to 12:30 Eastern with and one from 1 to 2 PM Eastern through - links in bio for both! I hope you can join me and take an hour to listen to what your body is communicating to you and set it free! ♡ ♡ ♡

🕯
🕯
I love yin yoga because it slows me down. My thoughts can go very fast, especially now with spring on its way but this virus still keeping us from fully breathing, exploring and adventuring.... expanding into the world.
🕯
I wear a mask at work and I have to consciously practice re-expanding my breath when I am home and yin yoga is a great way to do that! Also, if you are following the same movement patterns in your home every day, this is a great way to free your body from this movement pattern.
🕯
Hope to see you tonight!
