Yesterday, I had the pleasure of providing a Feng Shui walking tour of the Viana Hotel and Spa in Westbury for ladies from The Transition Network. The Viana Hotel and Spa was the last major project my mother, Carole Provenzale and I worked on before her passing in 2010. During the walking tour the TNN ladies learned about how the principles of Feng Shui were integrated into every developmental stage of the Viana Hotel and Spa. We discussed the history of the land, explored the various stages of refining the architectural design, floor plan layout, interior design specs, and the importance of Feng Shui ground breaking and grand opening ceremonies for the Viana Hotel.

To conclude the walking tour I highlighted well known landmark buildings located in New York City that have fused the principles of Feng Shui into their architecture. Each attendee took home a packet of Feng Shui tips they could adopt into their lifestyles and home. Ultimately, everyone walked away with a new perspective on how to see the world around them through their "Feng Shui eyes".

Sunken Meadow Drum and Dance Circle

Drummers and Dancers are meeting at Sunken Meadow State Park, field 3 (parking lot 3) by the concession stand on the far east end of the boardwalk. Please bring your own drum and chair. They will most likely be a handful of extra drums and smaller percussion instruments to share. All are welcome!

The drum circle is free but there is a parking fee to enter Sunken Meadow State Park.

Looking for a great way to begin your day? Join me for a morning Group Sound Healing session at the Oceanside Public Library on March 12th, 2025 from 10am - 11am. Enjoy a rich tapestry of sounds from Tibetan singing bowls, gentle rhythmic drumming, tuning forks, and various other instruments. Sound healing provides a unique and immersive experience that can help release tension and stress, allowing you to feel more balanced, harmonious and at peace.

What to bring?

Chairs will be available. However, if you wish to comfortably lay along the floor, it's recommended to bring a yoga mat, pillow for your head, pillow of your legs (if you need slight elevation), and a light blanket. Comfort is key!

I had the absolute pleasure of watching the morning sun, rise above the horizon of the Atlantic ocean in Montauk State Park. The view was truly magical and worth the trip 🙂 On this Valentine's Day, my heart goes out to my husband, all my departed family members, especially my mother - Carole, grandma - Rose, uncle - Peter, who's birthday was today, to all my living relatives, siblings, friends and community. May you all be blessed with wonderful loving energy and share that with others 🙂

Also,... February 14th is World Sound Healing Day and in honor of that I captured sounds of the ocean waves gently breaking along the shoreline.

My office today was at Columbia University Irving Medical Center Central to give a talk and workshop on Reiki. In attendance were Columbia doctors, nurses, resident doctors and various other employees and staff from the university.

Interestingly, a good amount of those in the audience shared they never heard of Reiki. I found that fascinating because Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York was one of the first to advocate studies on Reiki during open heart surgeries. Since that time, more studies have come out in support of Reiki.

Today, several hospitals throughout New York City offer Reiki Healing Services to those in recovery. Some of those locations include Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

The session provided included a brief history about Reiki, breath work, gentle guided Reiki meditation and suggested hand positions, subtle sound healing with soft chimes, a singing bowl and rainstick. The session concluded with everyone in the room chanting “Om” three times collectively. I have to say, the closing vocalization was powerful and quite beautiful to receive.

I look forward to presenting at future events 🙂 and are grateful for the opportunities.

Feng Shui Ritual Tip Number 3: Declutter

I know some will say, that's not Feng Shui! And they are correct if we are dialoguing about utilizing classical Feng Shui formulas to identify zones of the home that are supportive vs not.

However, we live a modern-day lifestyle and because humans have adopted the habit of collecting so many things, the act of decluttering has become a part of the conversation. According to Yale University, Stanford University, Scientific America, and the Journal of Clinical Phycology, they all agree clutter increases stress levels, impairs focus and decision-making abilities, reduces problem solving skills and can negatively impact a person's overall mood.

Why does this matter? A big component to the practice of Feng Shui is decision making. People hire Feng Shui consultants to help them make decisions about what changes they can implement to their home, office and self to increase the % of better energy (a.k.a better outcomes in their life). Before adding Feng Shui remedies, sometimes the best starting suggestion is to edit and reduce. This act in of itself opens up the energy flow and allows you to really see how each room and area within that given room can be optimized to its full potential with the support of Feng Shui through the use of colors, elements, bed/desk positioning and more.
