👂 When it’s not depression... it’s undiagnosed hearing loss.
A Year-old woman came to the clinic recently. Her family believed she was showing signs of depression—she had slowly stopped participating in conversations, withdrawn from social life, and appeared emotionally distant.
But as we spoke to her and conducted a thorough evaluation, the picture became clearer: she wasn’t depressed.
She just couldn’t hear.
Her hearing loss had gone unnoticed for years. Gradually, as sounds faded, so did her voice. What seemed like a mental health issue was, in fact, an untreated sensory impairment.
We fitted her with a hearing aid after a complete hearing test, and the moment she heard clearly again—it was unforgettable.
Her eyes lit up. She smiled.
Her first words?
"I can hear you so clearly!"
