As we step into a new year, the focus remains unchanged.

Orthopaedics continues to evolve with advancing technology, refined techniques, and deeper clinical insight. Yet the foundations of good care stay constant: thoughtful decision-making, precision in ex*****on, and respect for every patient’s journey.

I look forward to another year of learning, teaching, and delivering care that is guided by experience and grounded in compassion.

Wishing colleagues, patients, and their families a healthy, steady, and fulfilling New Year.

As one year ends and another begins, many of us make resolutions for better health.

Bone health, however, rarely makes the list—until pain or stiffness reminds us.

As an orthopaedic surgeon, here are a few simple habits I encourage patients to carry into the new year for stronger, healthier bones:
Move every day — walking, stretching, or gentle strength work keeps joints nourished.
Don’t skip sunlight — Vitamin D plays a vital role in bone strength.
Eat for your bones — calcium, protein, and balanced nutrition matter at every age.
Maintain a healthy weight — excess load accelerates joint wear; too little weakens bones.
Listen to early signals — persistent pain is not “normal ageing.”
Prepare, don’t postpone — early advice often prevents bigger problems later.

Small, consistent choices make the biggest difference over time.

As 2025 closes, I encourage you to step into the new year with habits that support long-term mobility and independence.

Wishing you and your family a healthy, active, and pain-free New Year.

Do your knees make cracking sounds when you move? It doesn’t always mean arthritis.

Most knee sounds are completely normal and happen due to gas bubbles in the joint or tendons moving during regular motion. If there’s no pain, swelling, or stiffness, your knees are usually doing just fine.

Remember — noise doesn’t mean damage. Pain does.
Save & share with someone who needs this reassurance.

The internet often highlights the worst-case scenarios, while most knee pain comes from simple, treatable causes like strain or temporary inflammation.

Only a proper examination can find the real reason.
Wrong diagnosis leads to wrong treatment.

Trust medical advice, not browser panic.
Save & share.

Modern joint replacement techniques are designed to help you regain mobility quickly and safely. Many patients begin walking within a day of surgery, which reduces stiffness, promotes healing, and improves overall recovery.

If you’re delaying knee replacement due to outdated fears, know that today’s procedures are far more advanced, precise, and patient-friendly.

For those who want to understand the journey in simple, practical language, I’ve shared detailed guidance in my book “Joint Replacements: A Patient’s Handbook.” It’s designed to help patients make informed, confident decisions.

How does a doctor behave when one of his parents go under the surgeons knife?
Every day of the last week I replaced the knees of parents of medical doctors. That included mother of a Neonatologist (Delhi), Orthopaedic surgeon (Bangalore), Endocrinologist, ( USA), Anaesthetist (Hindupur) and MIS GI surgeon (Bangalore).
Really indebted to them for their trust on my skills and being gracious in the ward!
Ofcourse they are the best group of people who can really judge your skills and strengths. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
