Four years ago, when I started my solopreneur journey, this was my vision statement.

It appears in my LinkedIn banner. :-)

"On a mission to help million people with their health and wellness needs"

In these 4 years, I have been serving this vision well through the following.

- Offering health and wellness coaching programs
- Speaking assignments at corporates and other institutions
- Through writing

But over time, I have come to learn that I need not be the only person who serves my vision.

If there are people who are serving a similar vision, and if there are opportunities, I can contribute or enable their vision to come alive.

I should be willing to contribute my ideas, thoughts, and expertise.

If you are serving a vision/mission, be mindful of this thought process.

Knowingly or unknowingly, we are passing on many things to our future/following generations through what we do!

I learned from my father, how to be fitter and healthier as long as we live on this planet.

He has always been my role model.

However, he did not go to the gym or do workouts like me. but, then, he had such awesome movements built into his lifestyle.

He was always on the move, had quality sleep, rising early, and not showing a bit of laziness!

Today, my son does his workouts on his own and plays football as well when he finds time. Doesn't eat sweets much. Does good portion control when he eats! Has 6 pack!

I am glad he is discovering his ways to be healthier and fitter, without much guidance!

Our children do not heed ear to what we say!

They take inspiration from what we do!

You can be a role model to your children and your upcoming generations.

Like wealth and other things, leading a healthy life also can be passed on to generations. Yes, it is possible!

When I coach my clients/customers, this is also another thought that runs in my mind.

It is not just one person that I am impacting through my coaching. It could turn out to be generations. And this really fuels all my work in my health coaching profession.

In the current customers list, I have the following as examples! All of them take coaching from me.

My friend, his wife, my friend's brother-in-law
My friend, her husband, their son, my friend's husband's colleague
My friend's son, his aunt
My friend and his wife

This post will change the way you look at your goals!

We all define a goal, always keeping an end in mind.

Duration is very important to most of us.

In fact, we want the end to happen as soon as possible!

What if I told you, never set a goal with a timeline?

Yes, if not for all goals, at least for a very few goals.

Why?

Because when you know that you have an outcome in mind, but when you don't set a hard timeline for the same, here's what happens.

You start to not bring any pressure to what you do.

You nurture what you do.

You start to really care about what you do.

You let the idea evolve with an abundance of patience.

Your craving for the outcome is not there anymore!

You start to slowly understand the process is becoming much more beautiful than the outcome!

You are allowing nature/universe to work in your favor!

You lose your ego at times in the process (vs. you end up thinking you are causing everything!)

You can apply this to your health goals.

Your health needs you to work on yourself without time pressure because only then, you will do the right things in a holistic way.

Instead of saying, "I will lose weight in the next 6 months",

Say, "I will become healthier and fitter by doing all the right things while also learning them in and out even if it takes the next two years" (this will need more courage and a vision!)

Your health is not a project!

Your health is important as long as you breathe on this planet!!

Ran a half marathon at the Bengaluru Marathon

Had a good run and thoroughly enjoyed it and finished it in 2:05 despite poor training for this race.

I had gone thinking, I might probably finish it in 2:20 or so.

Last year could do this run in 1:54 with good training.

Well-organized race given the crowd.
Plenty of aid stations.
Was good to see there included 5K and 10K runs as well

The only thing that bothered me a bit was the route. Too many turns for a half marathon run.

If you ask me, what is mindless eating?

Here you go.

- Not knowing how many calories are going into your body when you eat a meal or a snack
- Not knowing how much carbs, how much protein, and how much fat is going in
- Not knowing what kind of fat(s) are going into your body?
- Not knowing whether you are eating when you are really hungry or you are eating out of stress?

Why should you know all this?

Only then, you would know how to maintain your body weight and be healthy too!

If you have come to read up to this line, here is some additional information and a disclaimer.

"I am not a robot and I don't have to get so much calculative when I eat.

We all should eat as a human and just enjoy our food"

If you say the above sentences, I am also 100% with you!

But then if you are someone who has gained a lot of fat (and weight too!) in your body, it is time, you become a little calculative (mindful too!) for your own health!
