YOGA TIP:

🌤Seasonal changes can cause hair fall, dryness, and dandruff. Easy solutions that can reduce these symptoms are:

💧1. Stay hydrated. Drink water.

🥬🥜🥑2. Eat iron, protein, and vitamin D rich foods. It is best to incorporate these through naturally available foods.

🥥3. Use coconut oil to massage the hair. Method: Heat the coconut oil in a container until it is luke warm and apply it with finger tips on the scalp, making partitions. You may also use a cotton swab to apply the oil. Wash it with a gentle shampoo. (Khadi Naturals is a  mild cleanser. Find something that suits your hair texture.)

🚫4. Artificial methods can cause damage. Avoid heating and colouring the hair.

🔆5. Some sun is good. Prolonged sun exposure can damage the hair roots.

🧼6. Keep the scalp clean. Wash the hair thoroughly regularly to avoid greasiness and dirt accumulation. It is best to use luke warm water to rinse hair. Hot water can make the hair strands brittle and weaken the roots.

🧘‍♀️7. Avoid stress. Remember that you do all the above and do not take care of your mental health, then that can cause hairfall, too. Practice breathing techniques to balance the breath, anxiety, and increased heart rate.

🧘‍♀️Yoga is not about looking good, but these tips will assist  you to take care of yourself in an organically natural possible way, and you will feel good. Cleanliness is the first niyama.

🌸Remember, each individual is different. Apply the method that best applies to you and your preferences. There is no hard and fast rule.

Hello and Namaste 🙏

YOGA TIP:

🧘‍♀️Cleaning a Yoga Mat every day after practice can be hard. So, keep a wet cloth with some sanitiser in it and wipe away the dirt.
Every week, pour over water mixed with liquid soap and scrub gently, rinse with cold water, and hang dry. The water will remove stains, and sanitiser will remove germs.

🧘‍♀️If you sweat a lot, then allow the mat to dry first and then clean with a wet cloth with sanitiser and hang dry.

🧘‍♀️Retaining a mat for a long time is better than replacing a mat every now and then.

🌸 May your mat set you on a higher ground🌸

Surya Namaskar means sun salutation.🌞🙏

🌞Though Surya Namaskar does not belong to the traditional Hatha Yoga practices, enlightened sages passed it on as a dynamic group of asana, which has multiple benefits.
🌞1. It loosens, massages, stretches, & tones  all the joints, muscles, and internal organs of the body.
🌞2. It has a direct effect on the yang energy or the energising channel, which flows through the Pingala Nādi.
🌞3. By regulating Pingala Nādi which is the right and the Ida Nādi the left, relaxing channel. The 24 steps in SuryaNamaskar on the right and left get balanced.
🌞4. It generates prana, the subtle energy that activates the psychic body (pancha prānas).
🌞5. It reflects the rhythms of the universe, 24 hours of the day, the 12 zodiac phases of the year, and the biorhythms of the body.

🌸Mudra literally means seal. By applying a mudra, we initiate the regulation of the energy flow in a particular circuit. Each mudra has a specific benefit. It is the easiest method to channelise the flow of energy within the body.

👌Chin mudra- elevates the individual to unite with the universal consciousness and balancing the 3 gunas (Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas.).

🙏Namaskar Mudra- brings all the nerve endings of the palm together in union and from the Anahata chakra /heart centre balances the lower 3 chakras and the upper 3 chakras, It also means I bow down to everything with respect and gratitude.

💫With just these 2 mudra practices, one may elevate one's consciousness to a higher dimension. Do try and let us know in the comments section!

🙏🌸

Yoga evolved 15-25,000 years ago.
Evolution of life on earth happened 365 billion years ago. One can see a similarity between the evolution of life and the yogasanas : striking similarities:
84 asanas: 84 lakh evolutionary beings.

Some evolutionary eras highlight the similarities, they are:-
Movement of the fishes: Matsyasana 🐟
Amphibians: Mandukasana🐸
Reptiles: Bhujangāsana 🐍
Birds: Garudāsana 🦅
As we evolved from quadripeds to bipeds, we further evolved from Australopethecus, Homo Erectus, Homo Habulus to Homo Sapien, and the current modern human race. 👣🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

We evolved into the form of a human being who could use one's intelligence, imagination, and problem- solving skills towards invention and discoveries. Consequently, the reflective and meditative mind evolved, resulting in the birth of yogic sciences given to us by our gurus, ancestors, and mystical beings.

One such practice that hasn't been given much importance in the modern yoga forms is SHATKARMA. 6️⃣
A series of six cleansing practices that purify and prepare the human body for higher experiences.

'Sthiram sukham asanam' simply means to be at ease in asana. But let's not forget that āsana is only the third limb of Patanjali's Ashtanga Yoga
(eight limbs), from this point, a practitioner has to move ahead towards the more subtler aspects such as Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, and finally Samādhi. A yogi's aim is to attain Samādhi not get stuck in āsanās! Though mastery of āsanās is a plus point, it is not the ultimate. Let's journey beyond āsanas.

The three types of body in yoga are :🌸🌸🌸

1.Kārana sharir -causal body
2.Sthula sharir-gross body or physical body
3.Sukshma sharir- subtle body or linga sharir
are known as the trisharir.

1. Karana is the seed and cause of everything.
2. Sthula sharir is the physical body comprising of daily movements, bodily functions.
3. Sukshma sharir is the subtle body and a host for pancha koshas.

There are five koshas, they are:

1. Annamaya kosha- food body.
2. Manomaya kosha- mental body, mind.
3. Pranamaya kosha- pranic body- pancha pranas reside here.
4. Vignyanamaya kosha- intellect, higher mind that can discriminate, deduce, and infer.
5. Anandamaya kosha- bliss body.

The mental body/Vignyanamaya kosha traps the mind and stops one from becoming wise, hence to purify this and rise above illusions we need to practice yoga, so we can achieve the seat of the atman or Ānandamaya kosha/ bliss body which is free from illusions and boundaries. Every sincere yogi seeks to achieve this state.

What is time? Who is time? They say time is an illusion. Yet, we are constantly keeping track of time, looking at our watches, phones to track and pin our existence in the temporal space.
Kaal is time in Indian mythology. Kali is also time. Chronos in Greek Mythology is time. Why are God's ascribed to this illusion called time. I am obsessed with this idea. It engulfs me day in and out. Am I really running with time? Or am I ahead of time? What if I didn't feel the existence of time; stopped counting, and just existed? In a timeless zone. Is that possible? That there was only Day and Night, Sun and the moon and stars. And the twilight. How would my body and mind be influenced by timelessness. I have experienced timelessness briefly once in my lifetime, for 3 days I forgot about the clock. Something was surreal in the experience, I must say, that it left a deep impact on my psyche and deepened my thirst for the mysteries of the universe. What physics cannot answer sometimes paranormal experiences like these show us that there is an expansive matrix that bends reality.
Can one experience something so expansive within this human body at a certain time and be able to capture it? What if I could break the cycle of time, would it be chaotic, or a new order be created? There is always a beginning and an end. With every beginning and end, what changes occur? Which direction does it lead to? What factors play to facilitate a movement. Without movement, there's stillness, and time keeps running. It wouldn't stop for me. Do I keep moving to stay with time? Or do I take a break?
Also, movement and time go hand in hand, the movement of my cardiac muscles, the movement in my blood vessels, eyelids,& breath are in synchronisation with nature's cyclical time.
Does the disruption to this natural cycle disrupt nature? Or does it disrupt my health? Everyone's health in general gets disrupted when this natural cycle is disturbed. Time dictates how much one will live to see the world based on this quality of each human. Animals are mostly in sync with nature more than humans.

Namaskaram,
For a Kriya Yogi, these fundamentals are to be followed more importantly than anything. The goal is liberation, which is a consequence of one's Sādhana, Seva, Sangha, and guru's grace. 🌺

Happy Amavasya 🌚 A day to accent towards your liberation. 🌺

Sādhana- a tool to dissolve into her.
Why else would someone want to sit for hours and do kriyas? Only to clear the space and create an ambience so she could stay willingly, lovingly, and joyfully.
Miniscule offerings for my आराध्य।
🌺⚡️
Jai मा Kāli. 🖤
