Hiatus hernia commonly causes heart burn which can be tolerated but when rotated can cause difficulty in swallowing. 65 year old had Acid Reflux surgery / Laparoscopic Nissen Fundoplication when hiatus hernia caused difficulty in swallowing. He is off the acidity medicines from day 1 and able to have all the food post surgery without worry of acid reflux. If Acid reflux is caused by hiatus hernia then Laparoscopic Nissen Fundoplication can be permanent cure.
