2nd Sleep Awareness Program in Celebration of World Sleep Day - March 14th

Sleep is essential for individuals of all ages and genders. Today, we visited Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, BANGALORE Sagar College of Engineering in Bangalore, where we discussed the importance of sleep with young adults as part of the initiative IEEE EMBS DSCE.

Raising awareness about sleep health among this demographic is crucial. Young adults today face numerous challenges, including digital distractions, mental health issues, academic pressure, career stress, and exposure to various substances.

As they prepare to transition into adulthood and take on jobs and family responsibilities, they need to establish healthy habits early on to enhance their overall well-being.

We kicked off the "World Sleep Day - Sleep Awareness Program" with the theme "Make Sleep Health a Priority." During the presentation, we covered various topics related to sleep, including sleep health, the importance of sleep, circadian rhythms, sleep stages, how to assess "good sleep," sleep deprivation and disorders, sleep in women, sleep hygiene, and the impact of sleep on work performance at the bank, highlighting both the positives and negatives.

I also introduced some financial terms related to sleep, such as SIP - "Sleep Investment Plan." We explored how these concepts could connect to their sleep patterns and discussed strategies for improvement.
