Hey everyone,
It is a very common experience in my that many patients with period problems visit us after years of suffering.
There are also those patients who are inconsistent with their medication and diet-lifestyle modifications once they get temporary relief
Period health should not just be a concern for women planning pregnancy. It reflects overall health, and should become your priority

Hey everyone,
One very unfortunate assumption among general public is that the only real treatments in obstetrics and gynaecology are Caesarean section and hysterectomy.
While this is partly because of the unnecessary surgeries prevalent in our country, one cannot deny the fact that Ayurvedic doctors who practice obstetrics and gynaecology do not create necessary awareness.
I have shared a few conditions with reports and testimonials to speak of the scope of Ayurveda in obstetric care!
Do share your experience in pregnancy planning or pregnancy care with Ayurveda in the comment section to help create awareness!

Hey everyone,
🔯The most common obstacle to our wish to switch to ‘healthy eating habit’ is ‘food craving’
🔯Most of us blame our ‘restricted diet’ or ‘nutritional deprivation’ as the cause for food cravings.
🔯While this is partially true with only occasional food cravings, more than often it is a conscious choice our mind makes!
😊So, the healthy switch is simpler than we all like to believe!

Hey everyone,
🤷🏻‍♀️In the recent past, there are various foods that are being considered as solutions to all your health problems
🍃One such food is dry fruits
🤦‍♀️Most of my patients who regularly consume excess of dry fruits, started this habit recently after they learnt about the ‘incredible’ benefits of dry fruits!
❗️It is always important to analyse the effect of any food on your body and decide how much of what you need!
Enjoy all your foods in moderation! 🍃🤍

Hey everyone,
Ayurvedic management of PCOS is wholesome as the management of one symptom makes the other better.
My patients of PCOS with a prior experience of hormonal treatment provide a feedback in their very first follow up that their digestion, bowel movement and energy levels have improved in contrary to their previous experience where only periods were regular, but with an increase of other symptoms.
One thing to remember is these diet and lifestyle modifications are not for ‘quick fixes’, but a way of life to adopt!

17/06/2023

Hey everyone,
🔯Although I completely acknowledge the life-saving role of emergency medicine, I do find it hard to comprehend over usage of conventional medicines like pain killers, antacids, and multivitamins when not required.
🔯Also, putting a patient on lifetime medications with serious side effects that reduce the quality of life for diseases that can be treated at the root by positive lifestyle changes, doesn’t seem acceptable.
🔯A discipline in diet and lifestyle should become a priority
🤷🏻‍♀️You cannot come to an Ayurvedic doctor after multiple unnecessary interventions and expect them to cure you miraculously in a few weeks (without changing anything in your previous diet and lifestyle)
🔯So, to be healthy, YOU NEED TO FOLLOW HEALTHY DIET AND LIFESTYLE!

Hey everyone,
🙇🏻‍♀️We humans weigh risk-benefit ratio in every aspect of our life.
🤔Shouldn’t we do the same when it comes to a life-changing surgery?
🤷🏻‍♀️One of my patient’s husband impatiently said to his wife- ‘get that thing (her uterus) removed and get rid of the problem’, even before complete evaluation of the patient to know if hysterectomy was the only choice of treatment!
❗️Read the above post carefully before you rush to undergo a hysterectomy.
❗️Ayurveda provides a range of preventive and curative treatment options in benign conditions where conventional system suggests hysterectomy
🍀Stay aware and make sure to spread the awareness with your loved ones! 🤍

Hey everyone
Do you have any of the discomforts related to periods only in summers?
It is due to a transient increase in Pitta and Vata Dosha
It is either due to Pitta Prakriti (somatic constitution), seasonal changes, diet and lifestyle choices- one or more of these
It might also be an indication of an ongoing gynaecological disease (particularly if it is not just in summers)
Follow these changes and if it doesn’t improve, connect with an Ayurvedic doctor

Hey everyone,
If you have any of the discomforts mentioned in the above post, it is due to a transient increase in Pitta and Vata Dosha.
This increase is due to seasonal changes, your Prakriti, place you live in, diet and lifestyle choices- one or all these
It might sometime be an indication of onset of a gynaecological condition
If it is an isolated occurrence, try following above changes and remedies
If it happens constantly, seek help from an Ayurvedic doctor

Hey everyone,
🌿I frequently come across patients who assume ‘rice’ is the culprit for their indigestion, bloating, constipation, and what not!
🌿Many have this misconception that rice is ‘heavy’ for digestion and ‘wheat’ is light for digestion.
🌿If you consider only the inherent properties of rice and wheat, the contrary is true
🌿Rice, by nature, is light for digestion, whereas, wheat, by nature is heavy for digestion
🌿The other aspects that decide ‘lightness’ or ‘heaviness’ of any food have been briefed in this post
🌿It is over eating, frequent eating, untimely intake of food, late night dinners, lack of exercise and such other factors that cause indigestion, lethargic feeling, bloating and such other issues and NOT RICE!
🌿If you have any queries regarding a rice cuisine from your native, remember this rule- In general, batter and doughy dishes, fried rice cuisines and those prepared using sugar/ jaggery are heavier for digestion
🌿Intake of rice with rasam, rice gruels, neer dosa, rice upam are relatively lighter for digestion
🌿If you still feel confused whether a rice dish you prepare is light or heavy for digestion, ask us about it in the comment section below!

Hey everyone,
🌿Ayurvedic way of eating in a healthy or a diseased person is not random or generalised.
🌿It is selected carefully in each individual and even in the same individual, it is selected based on realtime status of digestion, external climatic conditions, state of mind, and such other variables.
🌿It is neither complicated nor impractical. It is simply more detailed and pragmatic than conventional dietary advice
🌿 I have shared a brief introduction to Ayurvedic way of choosing food in this post

Hey everyone,
🌿After sharing a recipe reel or post on Instagram, I frequently get DMs to know who can consume a said diet/ who should avoid, frequency of intake etc
🌿Although, most of these details are in the caption of every reel, people tend to ignore these
🌿Hence, I felt the need of sharing these issues in separate posts
🌿I had recently shared a summer recipe of Indian pennywort Tambuli
🌿A few local names-
Kannada- Ondelaga
Hindi- Brahmi
Tamil- Vallari kirai

Hey everyone,
Fortunately, there is increasing interest regarding preventive care that Ayurveda provides
As is true with any other diseases, Ayurveda can help us identify risk factors in our diet and lifestyle; and correction of these factors can in turn help us prevent simple to grave gynaecological diseases in the future
Along with general measures, Ayurveda also recognises measures that help us identify individual risk factor through Prakriti assessment and planning diet, routine and simple seasonal treatments to prevent diseases
In upcoming posts and reels, I will share more information on how to assess your Prakriti and how to prevent diseases

🍱 Diet should be seasonal and regional.

📍Avoid junk and packaged foods.

😴 Sleep between 10 PM and 6 AM. Avoid day sleep
📍Sedentary lifestyle remains a leading cause for PCOS by making you obese.

📍Do not eat and exercise.
🧘🏻‍♀️Always address your mental stress.
📍Talk to someone who can help you
📍Practice Yoga and Pranayama regularly

📍Reduce number and frequency of smoking
📍Try to use ni****ne free safe herbal ci******es initially. Gradually quit smoking
