Boundaries are, contrary to their nomenclature, actually responsible for bringing people closer. The thing is, in order to fully be ourselves, we need to create some sort of a distance between us and others.
Boundaries can be of varying natures. The most extreme, of course, is when you would like to excuse yourself from the drama that someone else brings.
Just like social media allows us to mute content that is harmful to our mental health, in real life (IRL) creating boundaries does the same job and protects us 💜

Social media is deceptive ⚠️

One quick scroll through our Instagram or Facebook feeds and it looks like everyone’s either celebrating a successful job or relationship, vacationing in exotic destinations, looking their perfect selves, and spending their day with the utmost ease.
These visuals stay with us even after we shut the app and go back to our own reality.
It makes us feel that others have it better and we start comparing ⚠️

If your still reading, here’s what I would urge you to remember:
💜Everyone’s day is full of bright and dark moments
💜 Social media makes us vulnerable and we focus on only the brighter moments that we see in someone’s life
💜Just because we see that one moment of happiness and perfection in someone’s life, doesn’t mean that their whole life is like that at all times

Next time you spend hours comparing your life with someone else’s, do remember to be mindful 💜

Apologising to someone you have hurt is a sign of care and respect. It needs to be done with authenticity and the right words. Beware of using phrases like:

— I’m sorry you feel that way
— I’m sorry. Are you happy now?
—OMG, you can’t even take a joke
— You take everything so personally. Sorry for that!
— I’m sorry you’re so sensitive
— I didn’t think it was such a big deal
⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️
