Servetogether Foundation

Servetogether Foundation A Society free from clubfoot disability Clubfoot is a deformity that twists the foot downward and inward, making walking difficult or impossible.

Left untreated, clubfoot leads to a lifetime of disability. While it cannot be prevented, it can be corrected using a relatively inexpensive treatment method that we offer free of charge to the families we serve. Servetogether Foundation working with Govt Partnership to reach maximum children born with clubfoot in India to see deformity free from their lives .Clubfoot can be treated through "The

Ponseti method ''and it is called the "Gold standard Treatment" for clubfoot and this method accepted globally as the best method .It involves two phases of treatment .Casting is phase 1 of treatment , which gradually moves the foot to the correct position (manipulation/ correcting stage) later The bracing 2 phase, which makes sure it stays there ( bracing/ long term follow-up stage)

Casting by an orthopaedic surgeon who has been trained in the Ponseti method usually starts when a baby is a week or two old, and lasts for 5 to 7 weeks. When the foot is in its final, correct position, the baby is fitted with a brace. The casting phase is also called the "correction phase." When this initial stage is completed, a visible change can be observed in the feet of the child. But as we know a child's body undergoes continuous growth and development. Hence, it becomes very important for maintaining the flexibility of the feet. And a child's feet grow very quickly in the initial growing stage . Hence, these children are required to wear braces (special shoes) to maintain the correction of the feet and to prevent them from a permanent disability. Therefore, the brace is as important as the series of casts. The brace keeps the corrected foot growing like it should. If the brace isn't worn as directed, the high risk of relapse occurs . Then, the child has to start all over again, beginning with another casting phase. The bracing phase is generally 2 to 4 years. A child wears the brace all the time (except during baths) for about 3 months, and then only during naps and at night after that. Through this we can preventing a child from permanent disability. We are looking for opportunities to extend service in across India to reach as many as possible. Estimated 35000 Clubfoot children in India every year. Your support can make more difference in future generation .
