Every brain has unique sensitivity levels, meaning we all process emotions and experiences differently. What feels overwhelming to one person might not affect another in the same way, and that’s completely normal. Your reactions are valid because they are shaped by your individual biology, experiences, and circumstances. So, don’t label yourself as “overreacting”—your feelings are a natural response to how your brain perceives the world. Embrace your emotions and understand that they reflect your unique perspective, not a flaw.

Well, when you are moved to speak, start with asking yourself: “What am i feeling right now?” then “is that REALLY what I am feeling right now or is there something else?”. Remember that you can be brutally honest to yourself inside your own head - so go ahead and explore. Once you understand, the next step is verbalizing it. ask yourself “what is my objective in verbalizing this? What words would best help me achieve that objective?” Reactionary responses are harder, but over time, you get better at it. Look for opportunities to formalize this by having a routine of writing a journal once or twice a day. Focus on the dominant feelings of the day and really push to understand it.
