Dr.Vishal Rao is presently the Country Director - Head Neck Surgical Oncology and robotic surgery and the Dean for Centre of Academic Research at HealthCare Global (HCG) Cancer centre Bangalore, India. He is a TEDx speaker and inventor of the Aum Voice Prosthesis a patented low cost speaking device f

or throat cancer patients - an innovation that has been considered among the 100 global social innovations across the globe and received wide recognition from BBC, Harvard Business Review and Forbes. He has more than 18 patents filed for his innovations on medical devices, drugs, techniques and theories. He is a member of consultative group to Principal Scientific Advisor, Govt of India. He has been conferred the Honorary FRCS by the Royal College of Surgeons Glasgow recognizing his contributions. He is the recipient of the Judy Wilkenfeld award for Global excellence in to***co control 2017. He has been recipient of several awards - Kempegowda Award - highest civil award conferred by the Bengaluru Corporation, the Varshada Kannadiga Award 2018 (Kannadiga of the Year) for his contributions in Science and Technology. Rotary vocational training award 2016 for inventing the voice prosthesis for his throat cancer patients. He is presently editor of Journal of precision oncology and has more than 100 national and international publications to his credit, and is a reviewer for 10 international journals. He is an international advisor to World Health Organisation To***co Free Initiatives (Bloomberg) partners in collaboration with state and union government to implement the WHO FCTC- Framework convention for To***co Control through National To***co control program. He has been a visiting faculty to John Hopkins University leadership programs. He is a member of consultative group to Principal scientific advisor to PM. He is Member of Vision Group for Biotechnology, High Powered committee on to***co control and cancer control Govt of Karnataka. He is also the Incharge coordinator union for international cancer control at HCG.

What began as an ordinary Sunday transformed into a magical experience as I had the privilege to engage with His Holiness, the Dalai Lama. Our conversation revisited themes from His insightful work, "The Universe in an Atom," which explores the profound connection between science and spirituality.

As His Holiness wisely stated, "If scientific analysis were conclusively to demonstrate certain claims in Buddhism to be false, then we must accept the findings of science and abandon those claims."

Sera Jey Monastic Universtiy for Science & Monastery in Bylakuppe, Karnataka, Tibetan scholars and monks are pioneering this integration. Their curriculum uniquely blends neuroscience, biology, and physics with spiritual understanding, emphasizing that science is crucial in our quest to comprehend consciousness.

I extend my heartfelt congratulations to these dedicated individuals bridging science and spirituality for future generations.

As His Holiness said "The purpose of science is not to cure us of our sense of mystery and wonder, but to reinvent and renew it."
