Every Long-Distance Truck Driver Deserves a Healthy Journey
On 23 December 2025, a Mega Health Camp was organised at the Apollo Tyres Healthcare Centre, Yeshwanthpur, Bengaluru, for truck drivers and allied workersโwho spend long hours on the road ensuring essential goods reach every corner of the country.
Through this CSR initiative led by Apollo Tyres Foundation, and implemented by Telerad Foundation with clinical support from RxDx Clinics, drivers received free health screenings, medical consultations, and preventive careโright where they rest between journeys.
๐จโโ๏ธ 101 drivers benefited, with services including:
โ Chest X-rays
โ Lung function tests
โ Vision and eye screening
โ Diabetes & BP checks
โ Physiotherapy support
โ Free medicines
๐ Plus, 500 drivers received free spectacles, supporting safer driving and better quality of life.
A small pause in their journeyโmaking a big difference to their health and well-being.
An Eye Screening, Breast Cancer Screening, and Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) health camp was successfully organized across all three Phygital PHC centresโ Sultanpur, Mehkar, and Deulgaonrajaโin Buldhana District, Maharashtra, from 01st to 06th December 2025.
The camp saw active involvement from Medical Officers, CHOs, and ASHA Workers at each PHC.
A total of 302 beneficiaries were screened for Diabetic Retinopathy, and 319 individuals underwent Refractive Error screening.
Breast cancer screening was provided to 214 women, while 188 beneficiaries availed Pulmonary Function Test services.
Phygital PHC staffโMs Shilpa, Mr Dhananjay, and Mr Vaibhavโled the camps at their respective centres with excellent coordination and commitment, ensuring efficient service delivery.
Beneficiaries received comprehensive consultations covering ophthalmic conditions, diabetes, hypertension, anaemia, ENT issues, gynaecological problems, paediatric concerns, and other general health issues.
Generic medicines were provided by the Health Department of Maharashtra.
The Phygital PHC initiative is a CSR project by Bayer, implemented in collaboration with the Telerad Foundation.
As part of the Phygital PHC Programme, Telerad Foundation organised felicitation events on 1st, 3rd, and 5th December 2025 at Sultanpur PHC, Mehkar Rural Hospital, and Deulgaonraja Rural Hospital in Buldhana district, Maharashtra. The programme was conducted to acknowledge and appreciate the dedicated efforts of ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers, PHC staff, and Rural Hospital staff for their valuable support in strengthening Phygital PHC services.
The ASHA workers and healthcare staff have played a crucial role in the effective implementation of healthcare services across 15 Phygital PHC telehealth initiatives spanning four statesโKarnataka, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh. Their commitment has been instrumental in ensuring improved community outreach, service delivery, and awareness creation. Similar felicitation programmes will be conducted at other PHC locations over the coming months.

Telerad Foundation expresses its sincere gratitude to all community mobilizers, including ASHA and Anganwadi workers, as well as PHC and Rural Hospital staff, for their continuous support in mobilization and community awareness activities.
As part of its commitment to inclusive and preventive healthcare, Apollo Tyres Foundation organised a two-day Mega Health Camp on December 11โ12 for the long-distance trucking community at the SankariโSalem IOCL terminal, Tamil Nadu.
Implemented by Telerad Foundation and supported by RxDx Clinics, Bengaluruโs premier NABHโNABL accredited multispeciality healthcare chain, the initiative delivered comprehensive health screening and consultations at a transit terminalโensuring easy access during driversโ rest halts.
The camp was led by Dr Prabhakaran (MBBS), with programme coordination by Mr Athul George, Ms Oliviya Joshy, and Ms Moumita Chatterjee from the Telerad Foundation Bengaluru office, along with Mr Abhishek and the team from the ATF Sankari Centre. Clinical services were supported by Mr Sarath Hridasan (Physiotherapist) and Mr Daniel Edwin Raj and Mr Prem Kumar (Radiographers) from RxDx Clinics.
The initiative was appreciated by IOCL leadership, including Mr Rajan, Chief Terminal Manager, Chennai; Mrs Malathi, Senior Terminal Manager, Sankari; and Mr Sathish, Safety Officer, Sankari, who acknowledged the importance of such interventions for workforce health and safety.
๐ 212 truck drivers benefited from services including vision care, chest X-ray screening, AI-based diabetic retinopathy screening, pulmonary function tests, NCD screening, physiotherapy and exercise guidance, doctor consultations, and free medicines.
๐ RxDx Clinics also sponsored free spectacles for 500 truck drivers, reinforcing road safety and occupational health.
This initiative reflects a shared commitment to preventive healthcare, dignity of labour, and collaborative partnerships that create lasting social impact for the trucking communityโan essential backbone of Indiaโs economy.
Apollo Tyres Foundation remains steadfast in its commitment to enhancing the health and well-being of the trucker community. In line with this mission, the Apollo Tyres Health Care Center (ATHCC), Sankari, organized a six-day FREE Medical Camp for truck drivers of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) at Sankari, Salem District, Tamil Nadu.
The camp was conducted on 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, and 21 November 2025, providing a range of essential health services, including:
General medical check-ups
Blood pressure screening
Diabetes screening
Eye examinations and vision screening
HIV testing
Medical counselling
Free Distribution of essential medicines
A total of 541 truck drivers participated and benefited from the camp, with attendees from Salem and nearby districts such as Namakkal, Krishnagiri, Erode, Karur, Dharmapuri, and Trichy. A total of 275 participants underwent vision screening, and 380 participants received blood pressure and diabetes screening.
Besides the health check, attendees were also sensitised about healthy habits such as physical exercise, walking, healthy eating, adequate rest and sleep, and recognising early warning signs related to health.
Dr Prabhakaran, MBBS, led the medical assessments with personalised counselling, ensuring timely identification of health issues and guiding drivers toward appropriate care pathways.
This initiative is implemented by the Telerad Foundation.

The camp emphasised early detection, preventive awareness, and community outreach to promote womenโs health in rural areas. The initiative saw active participation from Medical Officers, Community Health Officers (CHOs), and ASHA workers at each PHC, ensuring effective coordination and patient engagement.
A total of 144 women were screened for breast cancer through clinical breast examinations conducted by trained medical professionals. In addition, beneficiaries received counselling on breast self-examination techniques, preventive care practices, and awareness of early warning signs related to breast health.
The camps were coordinated and implemented by Ms Sabha Ahmed, Ms Oliviya Joshy, and Mr Athul George from the Telerad Foundation, who oversaw operations across all three Phygital Centres, ensuring smooth ex*****on and compassionate service delivery.
Beneficiaries also availed specialist consultations, addressing concerns related to diabetes, hypertension, anaemia, ENT, gynaecological, paediatric, and other common health conditions.
