FAD diets like crash diet/detox plans or any plan that claims immediate weight loss is short lived and you will most probably lose water and muscle. Weight loss approaches should focus on fat loss and not merely drop on the weighing scale. I post my meal plates on my often and sometimes if the plate lacks something ,I get many messages- “protein missing” “no vegetables” “only carb carbs “…

The whole idea about my posts is to tell you that healthy eating is not about PERFECTION ❌
You need to eat balanced meals most of the time but sometimes if your meal is not balanced - NOTHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN!

That’s the fact , your health won’t deteriorate and you won’t lose your progress.
The reverse however will - if you eat wrong mostly and eat 1 or 2 healthy , home made, high protein, high fibre meals , your health won’t improve and you won’t reach your goals.
PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION 💫

Nature + simple food + no connectivity = Bliss.
After 3 hectic months finally took a 1 day break.

I’m wearing this comfortable jumpsuit from . Just as conscious as you are about what you eat, try to be conscious about what you wear. Synthetic fabrics are not good for us & the environment. Sustainability is not just about shopping natural fabrics such as organic cotton, bamboo, linen it’s also about reusing what you own.

I wish I knew sooner but it’s never too late to make better choices. I try to avoid fast fashion, synthetic fabrics and also I don’t shop , unless I donate. Hence no hoarding and minimal shopping.
It’s not nutrition related but I felt like sharing - If you can afford it,choose better quality, slow fashion, eco friendly fabrics and support small brands rather than bulk purchasing cheaper quality and increasing waste.

On occasion of World Health Day- Let’s work to minimise harm to ourselves and our planet with mindful choices.

It’s “bean” a week ;) 1week of lunch plates during a busy week = lot of repetition.
6 meals are based on Indian cuisine, home cooked, healthy, balanced, nutritious meal plates and 1 meal was ordered from a restaurant. A little more rice and less veggies.

Though the meal is higher in calories (high carb, high protein and high in fat too!) compared to my regular meals , it is not going to make me unhealthy , unfit , fat or take away my progress. Moderation is key 🔑
What’s the best diet for you? A sustainable diet .

PS: Do not eat less than you need, starve or follow a very low calorie diet. Your weight loss will likely be from water loss , muscle loss rather than fat loss and it will also mess with your hormones, skin and hair health. ⁣Eat right and eat enough.

Feeling incredibly blessed and honoured to return to where it all began 🙏

Life has come a full ⭕️
Started as a student at PUC, went on to do my BSc and MSc in Food Science & Nutrition and now back to my alma mater ‘s graduation ceremony as a chief guest.
Grateful to be able to share my journey and speak to future trailblazers! 🌟

Going back to college, meeting my professors, watching students perform, and a sweet surprise from the teachers with their dance performances, singing and women achievers fashion show was a memorable experience. Truly emotional 😭

Thank you Director Sr.Albina (former principal who instantly recognised me and said I look exactly the same 🫣) and current principal Dr. George lekha for the felicitation.

Thank you Dean, Dr.Sundaravalli for inviting me, truly grateful for this opportunity.
Thank you Dr. Sangeeta, HOD Food Science & Nutrition for your constant encouragement, support, guidance and seeing potential in me. Pushing me to achieve greater heights in the field of Nutrition.
Thank you Dr.Geetha , Associate professor Food Science & Nutrition for being a wonderful host & for my kind introduction.

All the best to all the students and especially to the nutrition students (I know I am biased here ;))
But as I said in my speech do not rush to succeed- success has no timeline. Work hard and make your family & college proud but most importantly BE SUCCESSFUL IN YOUR OWN EYES🫶🏼

Here are some common myths 🤷🏻‍♀️ Did any of these surprise you?
Always remember , do not follow “all or nothing” approach ‼️
A healthy diet plan can be tailored to suit your needs, lifestyle , food habits.
Doesn’t matter if you are a non vegetarian, vegetarian or vegan.
Doesn’t matter if you love Indian food , western food or just salads.
Doesn’t matter if you need a high protein, high fibre or just a well balanced plan.
Keep it simple, eat local , seasonal.
The best diet is one that is sustainable.
Eat healthy 80% so you make allowance for festivals, travel the remaining 20%.

And don’t forget to hydrate, move and prioritise sleep❗️⁣⁣⁣⁣

Vegetarian and High Protein diet ?! If you are a vegetarian but you also eat eggs then these meals are a great way to further increase the protein content, even though the meals have paneer, quinoa, yoghurt etc which are vegetarian protein rich options.

🍳 Personally I prefer boiled eggs however you can also have them as an omelet or scrambled. May be make a 🌯 ?

🌱 These are home cooked meals based on an Indian diet. It’s healthy, balanced, high fibre and nutritious. This is an example of how with the addition of eggs you can increase protein in a vegetarian menu.

PS: Please increase quantity as per your needs.

7 healthy, nutritious , home made meals. I’ve hit my goals for Jan’25 so now I want to do better.
If you’ve been reading my captions,  you’ll know that my main goal is to get fitter (long term) but you can’t get fitter without a plan(short term goals) and that’s why my goal for January 2025 was to eat healthier than before.

If I put all the snacks, eating out, travel all together I would say 25 out of 31 days was on track. Now my goal for Feb is to be on track 24 out of 28 days.

I follow a diet that’s sustainable for me hence these meals are based on Indian cuisine. Its high fibre, 90% vegetarian, moderately high protein.

PS: Please increase quantity as per your needs.⁣⁣⁣⁣
